However some patrol vessels would have gone across. My main concern however would have been Trident. Moving nuclear weapons to a new base would have been expensive. I am pleased Scotland voted no so Trident can stay where it is and the armed forces can have a more secure deal come next year.
Two supercarriers pretty much secure now, yay. May not be like the size of the US supercarrier fleet but I am sure 2 more Nato Supercarriers will be welcomed all round with the Russians kicking off.
TLDR-Not able to vote but glad things went the way they did. I'm pretty sure the only reason the US has 10 supercarriers is just giant F-U to every other navy. To be completely honest I can't think of a reason to have ten of them when other superpowers like Russian only have like...5? I think. Sorta like a Oh you have a carrier? WE HAVE TEN! Also a carrier is only as good as the Fighter jets it can field, and F/A-18F is getting old, and from what I've read the new F-35 isn't really a 'stealth' fighter to start with, mainly because Russian and Chinese Radar can still pick them up. And the F-22 is only invisible to the radar if it's in front, but it's totally visible from behind. So go team USA on building a multi billion aircraft that can't even do the job it's intended to do. I love my country. XD On the note of Scotland independence, all I can say is that if the majority thought it better to remain apart of the UK then good for them. But the vote was like what? 32 to 31? Or something really close like that?
errm ever heard of a place called china ?.... theres about over a billion of them apparently ... and thier getting pretty feisty over certain parts of the world .. especialy the pacific |

I don't get this desire for local powers. We have councils that do plenty. It will just end up with more postcode lottery in service and another tier of crappy politicians sucking from the trough. |

actually, now that I think about it, he was probably one of the last to enter any government's parliament with honest intentions.

China only has one Carrier, they bought it from Russia, and I'm pretty sure it's conventional carrier. Not a Nuclear one.
In terms of Navy/Air Power, The US has China beat bar none. The only Rivals the US has to deal when it comes to Air is the UK's, Typhoon, who is politically friendly with the US. and the Russian, SU-47 and PAK-FA. China has a stealth fighter in development, but it's not ready for deployment till like, 2020 or something like that. I think it's called the J-20 Or something like that.
If there is one thing the US can do is project a really powerful air force. Even if we inject several billion dollars into an aircraft that didn't live up to the hype. =P
Also what would have happen if Scotland did go independant? What would happen with all the Scottish peeps in the UK's military? #DeleteTheWeak |

as far as I understand it they would have been transferred to the Scottish side of things wether they liked it or not I also understand that salmond wanted twelve Eurofighters but would have only used them on a part time basis is in "ok lads we will defend Scotland from air attack ..but only between the hours of 9-5 " sounds like a really strong defence policy from my point of view

Just glad the Union Jack is still intact, if for no other reason. One of the coolest and toughest-looking banners ever! Nobody would ever guess it had anything to do with a bunch of old saintly-type guys. "Were [sic] not your monkey and so what?"-á -The Sex Pistols (2006) |
