In my opinion NOS is the only useable item, for me at least. Theyre helpful when you get those pesky firgs scrambling you, and throw 5 drones out there and youre fine. And those rare occasions when you're 15 km from a BS, you can sustain a tank forever. Some people put tractor beams in there, but I don't typically pick up loot unless I have to.

Sorry, NOS is a Nosferatu, or Energy Vampire. It's one of the modules under that catergory.

NOS are good in some cases, but normally a Raven is a long range ship. If you're doing missions I recommend a medium/large rail on it with a tractor beam.

For a 0.0 ratting setup, you're probably going to best served by a Heavy NOS/Tractor setup.
The NOS gives you, combined with Drones and a Webber, a decent anti-interceptor setup to fend off the vanguard of a Gank squad, while the tractor speeds up your looting process.
The NOS is also good for powering your cap while you are ratting.
Not so sure about mission running, I've never really bothered with that side of the game.

for 0.0 solo ratting a tractor beam for loot collection (especially the faction cans) and small armor repairer to patch up drones if they get damaged can be useful.

I would never use a smart bomb in a lvl 4 mission only use smart bombs in 0.0 Use 2 psc of "Heavy diminishing power system drain I" 25 km range and a good cap bonus or alternatively leave the slots empty (As there are no reasons for putting anything else there!)

0.0 ratting, I'd use drone link augmentor and large rail ------------------------------ at least fit ECCM before you start crying how overpowered ECM is. |

I use a Heavy Nos and a Medium Beam Laser. <20km = Death.

A smartbomb can pop an entire volley of cruise / torps if it/they go off at the wrong time. I'm a fan of heavy nos/tractor, myself.

Browse thought all available high-slot module that you can use and fit, then determine which one will serve you the most for a given situation.
There is no universal best module.

Smartbombs can destroy missiles? Even your own? Damn, I am going to have to rethink using them on my BC. ------------------------------------- Sammael's Legion |

Edited by: James Lyrus on 10/08/2006 14:26:00 Choices: Heavy Nosferatu Heavy Energy Neutralisers Large Smartbombs Tractor Beam Cloaking device. Remote shield/cap/armour transfer.
If you're missioning, tractors are great. Being able to rep your drones if you're a long way off a station is useful (e.g. in 0.0 at a POS)
Nosferatu are generally very effective at a) keeping your tank running on borrowed cap, and b) as an anti-frigate defense.
Cloaks do cause you a lot of problems, with sensor resoltion and recalibration, but are also invaluable for 0.0 ratting, so you can safespot and go AFK with impugnity.
If you're rather tight on fittings (as is often the case on a Torp raven) then medium neutralisers will do as much cap damage as a nosferatu, with much easier fittings (although it'll drain your cap, and only has a 10km range, you don't _have_ to turn them on)
