Surely, among all the Eve onliners who frequent these forums, there must be some people who like industrial rock! At least I hope so, because I would like some advice on what bands to listen to. As a reference, some of my favorites include Peace, Love and Pitbulls and Nine Inch Nails (yeah ok, so maybe that isnt exactly industrial, (?)but close enough).
Thanks!

Hehe, hows that for a coincidence.
Think I've seen that site before, worked decent, but now great, if I remember correctly. At least not for the kind of music I was after. Thanks anyway, WILL look it up when I get home from work)
Anyone have any suggestions for good bands in this genre?

is that who i think it is? 0o
when it comes to industrial ROCK, i dunno.. but metal on the otherhand- 'Ministry' would have to be my favourite. Try 'Gary Numan' as well, and (although a bit crazy) try the newest album by a Norwiegan band called 'The Kovenant'. Theres also a Swedish band called 'Covenant'- theyre also industrial. ***

KMFDM > All other Industrial Rock.
They've been around 20 years, so have quite a lot of stuff to go through. Try 'Nihil', 'WWIII' or 'Hau Ruck' albums. ---------------------------------------- Space-Slacker |

God, always knew that retard move would come back to haunt them. I always like listening to them and explaining to my roommate that KMFDM does not stand for Kill Mother ******* Depeche Mode.

MSI = Mindless Self Indulgence = Awesome. Great live shows as well. Skinny Puppy is great as well, they are one of the "original" industrial bands, its pre-NIN stuff, and totally amazing. I would reccomend their Live From Dresden CD. -----------------------------------------

I'm not quite sure if CellDweller qualifies as IndyRock... but... they're close enough for me. Plus, if they are or not, they still rock... or... he still rocks, technically. --- --- --- ---

Wow, FLA are still going?
AFAIK, Ministry were about the first band to throw thrash palm muted quitar in with keyboards. Before that the industrial scene was far more, ummm, wierd is that the best way to describe it? My Life with the Thrill Kill Cult, Rev co, Skinny Puppy and so on.
You might want to try some of jim thirwels stuff, he is one of my heroes. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

pantera, like machine head = post thrash, not really indi.
also highly recommend the two most recent albums by a swiss band called Samael- very electro/indi orientated metal much in the vein of newer Kovenant material. ***

Edited by: Tao Han on 09/08/2006 13:55:52 I've always enjoyed industrial metal(ish) over the more "fantasy" inspired death metal and black metal.
Recently been listening to alot of Strapping Young Lad and that industrial/trash thingie (I always sucked at defining genres anyway )
Dunno if I can call it "fantasy inspired" without getting flamed

Superb choices - good to see another VNV Nation fan in Eve! if you haven't already, check out a band called Seabound, as they are in a similar vein to the above.

It wasn't worse than Nightwish's Tarja changing outfits 3 times during one perfomance the same night. :| Oomph didn't look good in Wacken which was to be expected - all german metalheads hated them since they released a song which was played on the radio 24/7 and from then on was mostly listened to by 14yo girls going through their rebellious phase. Doesn't change the fact that their old stuff is still good and shouldn't be forgotten.

"Praise The Fallen" is still my favourite. I saw them last year and they were one of the best live bands I've seen - you should really enjoy it!
