Like the title says. I want to start Finding hidden asteroid belts. Quick and easy way?
Are their probes i can use that wont take me a week of learning to use?
Also their are so many guides out online i'm not sure where to start. If you happen to have good one handy please send em a link. It would be greatly apreciated. |

A good place to start is with the career agents from when you first started the game. One of them deals with exploration. Run the tutorials and READ the info. You'll end up with a decent grasp on how exploration works, a free probe launcher, probes, and a frigate that has probe scan strength bonuses.
That's a place to start.
Learning the methods of placing the probes can be intimidating, and takes time for some people to learn, but patience is the key.
There are some decent guides around, and good threads on the forum, but if you can get to the system where you first started with the career agent tutorials, you should still be able to take the exploration one. At least that's how it worked for me. Profit favors the prepared |

You can also try mission running and harvest the ores from mission space. Goto http://www.eve-survival.org . There is somewhere a link like 'Mining in missions' or so.
But don't decline missions from the same agent within 4 hours to get a 'mining' mission |

There's also hidden belts inside ordinary belts..
Once upon a time u could use the directional scan to find them, now you cant.
It's hard to explain but in some belts there are hidden walls that you must fly through to enter the new belt.
Sometimes they are 100 kms away from a regular belt, sometimes 500 km, but they are there.
In certain systems I have bookmarks for hidden roid belts and they respawn and replenish just like any other belt. |

It's true and many old school pilots who did mining pre 2007 knows about it. |

Otherwise known as "off-grid" belts. I've only seen them in systems that went without mining long enough for the 'roids to populate enough to spread off-grid. Sometimes you'd be flying to a belt from another or some other object in space, and before actually arriving, you'd see a bunch of rocks suddenly appear on your overview before blinking out and being replaced with those actually in the belt.
Grab something fast and fly in a random direction along the plane of the ecliptic away from the belt. Sometimes you'll find nothing aside from where the grid ends, and sometimes you'll find a sexy, basically unmined selection of rocks. I've only seen this happen with any regularity in 0.0 though. |

well it isn't so much hidden as just off grid. And they are far more common than many player realize. most belts are a big circle but the belt you see when you warp to the belt is only part of the circle. if you get a small fast frigate and follow the radius of the belt off grid you will often find the other side of the belt. get near the middle of it and make a book mark. then you can warp right to it with your mining ship. the best part is can flippers and hulk hunter generally only cruise the belts that show on the over view and you will be off grid for them. You can still be found by players who know where to look or use scanners, but you are pretty much as safe as when you are in a grav site. |

This is true.
I don't do mining anymore but I remember finding Monoclinic bistot roids in these hidden belts with about 9000 ore in them because they had been floating in space for god knows how long ( maybe since the dawn of EVE ) just replenishing and replenishing. I also found a Vitreous Mercoxit rock with around 5000 ore in it.
I don't know how much a roid can contain, all I know is that if nobody mines a roid it will just keep growing in "quality". |

For the OP's question IMO it takes time to train scanning up to high enough where searching for grav sites is worth it. With low skills you will be stuck in a t1 scanning frigate and will only be able to find the higher high sec belts easily which will probably not be worth it either in value and time spent looking for them. |

1. You have to put time into learning how to scan. Eve gives you nothing for free. (Except Aurum and tears) 2. Scan for Gravimetric sites 3. Don't bother doing this in trade/mission hubs. They are hit hard and fast shortly after DT
Don't be lazy; learn what you need to learn to be successful in what you want to do.
Also: "hidden sites in normal belts"? lol wut?!?!?!? |

Mine as well. From a brief Google search:
Ben Derindar wrote:This has been touched on a couple of times with no real clear explanation.... till now. I stole the following straight from a Eve-Online general topic. Much higher chance of this in 0.0 space rather than empire.
1. Warp to any belt. Go in at 100km to buy you at least a few moments from the NPCs.
2. Do a scan at 360 degrees at, say, 2000km range (make sure your high-ends are enabled in your overview if you are scanning using overview settings). If you pick up any asteroids that don't show a specific distance on your scans, then they are off-grid and you have a hidden belt nearby. If not, go back to Step 1.
3. Reduce the angle of your scan to, say, 90 degrees and run repeated short range scans at this reduced angle, turning your camera view each time, until you see most of your mystery asteroids reappear on your scan results.
4. MWD in the direction of your camera view. Eventually you will cross into a new grid, and with any luck, the roids you were scanning should appear. Bookmark at your convenience.
There's a bit more to it than that ofc, but that's the basic process I follow anyway.
Ben Derindar.

I've done this to over a dozen different belts now and I'm not finding anything.... |
