I'm a rather new player, I'm still stuck doing level 1 missions.
Anyway, I've done 2 different sets of storyline missions. The first was the one right after you finish the tutorial. The second string was also an actually string in missions, one right after the other. Then last night I got another storyline mission, however it was rediculously easy and when I went back to talk to the guy once he paid me my reward he would not talk to me anymore.
Are all the missions storyline agents give connected into strings or do some give little stupid one off missions? I'm simply curious if the agent was bugged or not.
Thank you.

The guy you start with at the tutorial station, leading to a string of other event missions, is quite different from the regular storyline agents.
Normally, a storyline agent will behave as the guy you worked for last night. You can only work for him when *he* contacts *you*, just for one mission. The benefit to doing them is a significant jump in your standings - it's also the ONLY way you can boost your standings to the faction, rather than just the agent and his corp. ________________________________________________

Actually I believe you can boost your faction standing by doing "event" agents these are not storyline agents and they are usually boring in that you just carry something from one location to another then pick up another event agent but you can get a significant boost to your faction standing (I went from 1.2 to 1.8 one night) by doing these. Again they are boreing however.

Storyline agents contact you after you've done around 15 missions for the same regular agent, or just 15 missions, I have a bit of trouble understand how this part works.
Second. Storyline agents have both single missions, and stringed missions. I had "Whispers in the Dark" yesterday, a series of 4 missions all from the same storyline agent. Most of the time though, they give a quick 1 mission.

Let's turn this into a mantra, shall we? 16 missions for agents of the same level in the same faction.

Correcto.
CCP and their gift for no language struck again when someone chose the utterly misleading term "storyline" mission to describe both important missions and mission sequences.
Thing is, that term existed with its first meaning before the second concept made it into the game with the first COSMOS constellations and nobody ever bothered to introduce a clear and consistent differentiation between the two meanings.
Cause that would be, ya know, too hoppin' hard.
