At this stage, half of the proposed plan is useful.
There should be a hard cap on jump fatigue that is 24 hours or less. Not everyone zooms around the galaxy now, and even less of us have the basement-dwelling time to wait days on end for timers to expire. A hard limit of 24 hours means that instead of going "okay, I've done all my jumping for this week, logging off till then" it becomes more of a matter of "okay, I've done all my jumps for today, I'll log back in tomorrow."
It would still have the wanted force projection nerf, in that caps will no longer be able to race from one end of the galaxy and back again in less than 2 hours, but will allow those of us who would actually like to play the bloody game in the spare time that we have to log in, do some capital jumping (whether for combat or otherwise) and log off knowing we will be able to log back in again and do it tomorrow.
Eve has been described as "a game that doesn't want you to play it", and I can't help but see the unnecessary length of cooldowns currently being proposed as reinforcing that opinion. God knows I'm not into logistics, but if I was, I would definitely be taking a good, hard look at where all that sub money was going.
Before posting in Features and Ideas, please remember that Eve is in no way obligated to change based on your stupidity, ineptitude, or well honed sense of personal butthurt. |

So I'm not quite sold on the range nerf for the JF/Rorqual. I'd also like to see the mining/industrial ship restriction removed from the Rorq SMA to at least provide one decent option for moving assembled ships.
Otherwise in principle the idea seems okay to me. This is exactly all that needs to be changed with the current plan (besides capping fatigue to at most a day or so more than the longest possible sov timer combo).
@Sibius:
" I realize now that these changes are these changes are a month away. This is plenty of time for CCP to redev their plan. By the time the patch comes out they may have made changes to it that saves the game from the proposed negative impacts. At this point we should just wait and see. "
No, that's not how CCP gains wisdom. The CCP wisdom ritual requires a certain number of cancelled subscriptions, tears, and rage to be sprinkled on the forums first.
That primes the ritual. Then you shoot the statue. Once all these steps are completed, CCP will see the error of its ways and reverse its smiting of the poor, tortured orphan souls who are the logistics pilots of nullsec.
We suffer so that others may have the joy of Jita market access right at home. Logi pilots labor in love (and hate, of course), the true martyrs of eve, and now CCP wants to nerf us hardcore.
If Mother Theresa were still here, CCP would probably nerf her, too. |

Under the range limit of 5 light years however that leaves only 2 valid low sec systems that may be jumped to: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/range/Nomad,0/JitaTwo systems, a small collection of stations, of which one 1 is non-kickout. I'm all in favour of bottlenecks for content but this is the most populous trade hub in new eden would it not be possible to at least get 1 other option? Making max jump range 6 light years would for example offer 22 possible cyno-out points otherwise I can envision JF losses quickly outstripping production and the logistics backbone of new eden tumbling like a house of cards. http://evemaps.dotlan.net/range/Nomad,1/JitaAs it stands now, unless you happen to want to head in that direction already cynoing out of 4-4 as is not a practical option at all. CCP hates Jita. They don't care about JF problems there at all.
i think JF-ish ships should evade this whole episode of new mechanics completely. i think JF should retain jump ranges intact as per what has been trained. WUT ??? |

Supply chains with multiple systems that are protected by line members. Now we just jump around but soon we will need escorts, guards and focus. I understand CCP want to limit 3-rd party like Pandemics be always in every capital fight and ruin normal fights between small groups, but whe ccp limit absolutely everyone even if they neve drop in other region?
ANd and JF and refueling towers. Even now we spend 5-8 h to refuel towers, and after patch we will need to spend 2 days in a row to refuel them?! Would be more simple to remove them or leave eve.
And if CCP want to limit 3-rd party drops, they can leave without limitation in jumps local people, alliances and create limitation for alliances and corporations who not live on this territory. And very simply to find who live where because usually most of people, local people run plexes, missions, and simply they live in this systems and regions most of the time. SO they can get status - local and jump in own region without limitation, and intruders - they will have limit on jump time to thet region.
It would be fair and limit 3-rd party drops, and allow for people do own things in home region without problems.
CCP can even ask every alliance to select one region which they call - home region and jump there without limitation. |

Some do not realise that the outcome of these changes will mean.
If you think it is hard to take Sov now it will next to impossible after these changes.
I have already seen a number of ways talked about to avoid fatigue, ways which only the large alliances are able to do as they have the numbers and isk.
All they have to do is seed strategic systems with dreads and carriers, create a ring of steal and deep null will effectively be untouchable.

Now they will be so rare :( I agree that there will be fewer but there aren't many as it is. I think changes like this will create bottlenecks and staging areas that may increase the chances of larger fights because now large wars will have to take small steps to staging areas to build up forces and that will encourage others to try to stop them and cause more build ups and more fights. All of those staging areas will be very valuable and those forces in the area will be valuable so fights will happen. Yes, I do believe that huge fights will not be as likely but we will probably see more medium to large fights. This change allows for the potential for large fight to happen and as of right now there is little potential in null. You realise that the ideea of having large stating points is simply wrong without the ability to feed the points with the tools you need? So that much for this ideea. But is also true that once you win a point, this will be a clear win since enemy won't have the option to reship or resupply in a timely manner. So after few attempts, large battles will die. And after a time all the brawlers will rely on ppl like GG to sponsor them to get ships to blow up. And in MOA specific case to run with them. If nothing else this game continuously proves that people want to fight and that the fights generally grow in size. Restricting how far a group can jump is going to hurt but once people adapt there will probably be plenty of fights. Instead having one long jump between point A and B there will be supply chains that reach down from A to B. Those points in between A and B will need to be defended and supplied and they will be in jump range of larger forces. There will be fights, it may be logistically more difficult but smart groups will overcome them. This is a content creator and the people whom are mad about it are just scared of change and don't want their way of life changed because people are set in their ways and we can't see into the future so we are nervous that it is going to ruin our good time. Like the industry changes were going to be the end of EVE as we know it but now it doesn't seem near as bad as the forum fire made it out to be. If nothing else this change will grow the need for jump capable pilots and the need for more PVP pilots in null to protect gates, bridges and slow-boating forces. Guerrilla warfare is the new name of the game and these large groups are going to be in for some hard times if they don't start to think about how to fight an insurgency instead of just blobbing small fleets. Actually i think it's all about sustenability . If "work" part becomes 3-4x bigger than "fun" part this not a good mix.

You sure about that?
Remember we are talking about groups that have so much isk its ridiculous. As well as the industrial capacity to out build anybody. There is nothing stopping them creating caches of dreads and carriers in dozens of systems along their borders. |

Your right it shouldn't be, there have been some amazing ideas over the years by players who have put in some real thought but all those ideas required something new to be created and as CCP has proved time and time again over the last 18 months, all they are interested in is changing a few numbers in a database and the odd line of code.
The time of CCP introducing something new is over. |

I've been reading these posts and I agree with both sides.
I think just about everybody can admit that the power projection and scope is a problem, but even those who agree are saying that this "jump fatigue" thing is kind of dumb and arbitrary.
But if tasked to think of a better idea, I don't think I could come up with anything.
In the end CCP will do this but the lore is probably going to get hurt the most.

to be honest, the most interesting parts of this change are seeing how high you can get your jump fatigue. or maybe that's because i'm not a cap pilot so maths is the only part of these changes that i understand....
then again, if you just wait an hour between jumps you never have to care about fatigue to begin with. |

No more stretched territories, no more third partying, all this sick bull**** will hopefully go away. This is exactly what eve needs, finally it's getting big again. Somehow true. On behalf of capital pilots all over new eden... I'd like to protest this kind of nerf to capitals.
Surely there is a better way to generate game content, that doesn't involve harming all the loyal subscribers that have paid monthy for "YEARS" to train for capital ships.
This proposed patch suggests that I have wasted time and money investing into capital pilots and capital ships, that if this patch goes ahead, I will not be able to use very often at all. I may as well un-sub a few accounts based on the fact that i can't use them effectively anymore.
