Im pretty new to the EVE stock market and I have a few questions. I was wondering what the experts think of the potential of EMFI if it stays keeps increasing at it's current rate. Could this stock ever become as valuable as say an ISS stock overtime?
Also are their any stock trading channels that are open to new traders?

I could be wrong here, but comparing EMFI and ISS makes no sense. The only difference between the two is that EMFI's growth is greater in terms of a percentage.
ISS are expensive shares and I don't believe they have moved much. I myself put money into EMFI and found them to be great. ISS on the other hand seem to have little to no movement in terms of brokering.

In time it is possible that EMFI could achieve corporate value equal to the ISS ventures, but one of EMFI's stated goals is to keep individual EMFI shares affordable to the largest base of players possible. So, on a per share basis EMFI's pricing won't equal ISS pricing. This signature is a tribute to the greatest signature of all time. It's not the greatest signature ever, it's just a... Tribute!! |

Since EMFI sold all shares in the 2nd offering, it no long has any direct control over, and shouldn't care about open market prices. --

I don't have any direct control over stockprice anymore (can't issue more shares, can't dump on the market) so the stockprice is under free market forces.
Fundamentally though the stock has an underlying value of about 10.2k and has paid between 4 and 6% dividends. The growth part of the fund is really low (practically all isk is paid as dividends only a tiny bit kept for growth.
People pay for the share "what they believe 10k is worth in my hands" and the biggest increase a share has traded at is I think 10x NAV(OMARA/ESINV). It is unrealistic to expect EMFI ever to reach a price like 25mil or even 1mil. It is even unlikely that EMFI will perform like OMARA and ESINV and trade for 10x NAV (100k isk)because of the nature of the stock (size of float).
I am not sure what your exact question is, will EMFi reach 30mil / share?
300,000,000,000,000 (300 trilion) underlying value... no, think not :)

The way Eve is at the moment, there is limited growth potential. I hold about 3% of EMFIs total stock, which is a substantial investment (not as big as Darks though) primarily because I don't actually play Eve at the moment and want my isk to be doing something while I'm away, ie. paying a dividend. It also helps that I could dump the stock and make a profit there too, but much less than if I hold the shares for a year and just collect the dividend.
I think the EMFI price is increasing because they are getting lots of +ve publicicty and recommendation on the forums and that is because they are run professionally and are a reasonably safe pair of hands for my years of "work" to be put into (no pressure EMFI!). Also consider they trade other peoples stock and that goes into their profits, so in theory I shouldn't need to hold lots of individual stocks if EMFI are buying up and earning from other IPO's themselves. I still get a piece of the action from these other corps, via. the EMFI balance sheet.
No, I don't think EMFI will be inexorably rising in price.

In my opinion,
EMFI is primarily getting a higher value due to the higher sell prices on the market. On the EGSE, EMFI is now being traded for 16k-18k, which shows how much people are willing to pay for the share, and therefore, how much the share is worth to them...
EMFI isn't increasing in value due to high dividend payouts (because the dividend payouts aren't that large to begin with, sorry EMFI Manager, no offence) but it's increasing in value through the market.

EMFI may go higher.
One of the primary reasons for EMFI being valued high is the fact that EMFI Manager undervalues the shares in his collection. Instead of valuing them at the current selling price (at which it might take months to sell the shares), he values them much lower. For example, last I saw EIBI was valued at 15m, not 30m.
This means two things:
1. If bad news causes a stock to drop, EMFI doesn't even have to claim a loss: its a margin of error.
2. Using the same standard that people use to value *other* stocks on the EGSE, EMFI is worth drastically more than it its listed "asset value."
This is a very good thing for shareholders.

Sadly, that is incorrect. I hold the honor of running the IPO with the most over inflated share trades (not counting scams).
OT-TS IPO value: 20k Highest Sell Price: 1m
I still do not understand why people would pay 50x the value of something.

Hahahahaha!
Anyway um, So EMFI sounds like its prices alright?
And OT-TS has come down in price quite a bit. I remember selling a bunch I got from a friend for like 100-150k.
Good money in that. Though I kept 35 shares. hehe.

I just unloaded a bunch of EIBI shares at 2x the IPO cost . . . I don't understand why people would pay that much for shares (2x for mine, 50x for others) especially on what may very well be a scam.

The reason people like the stock is that the manner in which it is run. It is managed aggressively but it is (at least in theory) almost 100% transparent.
That said, when the share price goes up past 2x IPO price people are going to be a bit nuts to buy any.

Just like EMFI "may be" a scam.
ISS "may be" a scam.
OT-TS "may be" a scam.
What do the above have in common? They're all selling at 2x or more above IPO price, just like EIBI!

I have to say I am very happy with the EMFI shares, recently I sold 60% of my EMFI shares. That 60% of the shares has paid back 100% of my initial investment and I have enjoyed regular dividends. I now own 40% of my original stake but cannot lose cash even if it bombs.
