I dont get it. The isk you get from mining is equal to the ships mining ability time the fields mineral value. So some have 0 value which means you get 0 isk for mining them? Why bother putting the cards in, or am I not getting something?

ISK income value I would assume? The ISK income value you get form just having the card in play. Veldspar gives you one extra income pr. turn. Thats why its limited, so you dont start the game off by totally pimping your Home Region with stacks of Veldspar...

Also there could be cards that affect that value. Or there may be some in the future. It's always good to leave options open for new card designs too.
Also there may be cards that calculate the total locations with a listed mineral value etc.
Don't know if there are some or not, these are just some suggestions that came to mind :)
One such thing that comes to mind is the Kyonoke Pit outer region.. but that one adds a mineral value to every location and not just asteroids so it doesn't really apply. But there could be some other things that do.

There would be no point in mining a card that gave no mineral income. I'm not even sure if you technically can, although it doesn't make much of a difference. However, some locations can offer you isk every turn or other benefits, so they would be playable. A 0 isk, 0 ore, 0 abilities limited location would be almost worthless.

All cards give atleast 1 isk or 1 mineral value for locations.Veld will give you 1 isk without having to mine. Pyroxeres is 0 isk but 2 min value, so you have to mine it for it to give you anything.
Or you can sac it to play scordite, like I do.

There are location cards which give 0/0 but have useful abilities instead, city of god, ancestral homeland and star chart enterprises for example. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was refering to income-related cards (roids mainly). Ones like city of god pretty much explain themselves as to why they exist without any income on them.

I assume it is for cards that might increase the mineral value of a location (haven't seen any yet, though). Without this symbol appearing on the card, it would not be clear if such an ability could be applied to it. Just future proofing the cards, I guess.
