Is there anything i can do to overcome this problem - or do I just have to go back to the agent and cancel the mission? ------------------------------------------------ Just because your not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you! |

The GM probably wont hand you your destroyed objective. They can help you by removing the mission from your list if they're in a good mood, but the weather isn't that good in Reykjavik (foggy, 12¦C), so your chances are slim.
Cancel the mission and hope the standing hit isn't too nasty.

You can always look on the market or on escrow (if common Item, like data sheets)
But if you have not canceled a mission in a while you will get no hit were as if you let it expire with out cancel you take a bigger hit.

Cancelling an accepted mission gives you a hit. Declining a mission OFFER (once every 4 hour) does not...

Most GMs will reset the mission. Arguably they shouldn't do, if it's our own damn silly fault for blowing the thing up - but there's many a time where the important mission item doesn't drop at all, or someone else loots it, or ... so you can usually get it reset and have another go. ________________________________________________

As far as I know, everything respawns after downtime. So it might be worth to wait after the next downtime and try the mission again.

Depends if there was a kill mission as part of his objectives. If the kill mission's gone green for completed, nothing respawns. ________________________________________________

Id say u may have to run as many missions as u can (leave the mission open for 6 days) run as many missions with that same corp (diff agents) push up youre standing as much as possible before u fail the mission. Should offset any standing losses

Forgive me if I open my mouth and something stupid comes out since I did stop with math after calculus and IÆm not completely sure of the formula used for standing gains. ItÆs my understanding that gains are a percentage of the difference between your present standing and either +10 for a positive gain or û10 for a negative gain. So the higher your standing the more a negative hit hurts.

From my experience, i had standing of 9.8 with my current agent, I had to cancel a mission and my standing dropped to 9.0 bit of a hit :(
