while we're asking, can we get a skill that reduces turret sig resolution as well? 8)
oh wait, turrets and missiles are different systems

Originally by: KillerOfMacros Yea but if you did that then missiles would have to do full damage every time they do hit just like guns....
are you serious? if you ahve a ship with x sig radius and y speed and z resists, a missiles will hit for same damage every time it hits(and it does hit every time if you have some clue to what you are doing) under those same circumstances, turrets will sometimes make a good aim dealing good damage, next will be a hit that glances off, dealing no damage, then there's a hit that barely scratches for a little bit of damage, and every once in a while there's a perfet aim that deals wrecking damage.
turrets do not deal full damage every hit

yeah, if you use a a torp against an inty for example then the exp radius will ahve a big effect on the damage. Large turrets have the same problem though, theye have a signature reolution of 400m wich affects chance to hit against smaller targets.
you forgot to put that in the cons of turrets

Where do we stand now with your balance of pros vs cons?
still no-where cause all I see is some arguments about why missiles suck and why turrets suck compared to them, but no damage comparison between teh 2 during normal combat.
Fly a mission with a turret user, with simmilar support skills(dont ask a noob with 500k in missile skills to compete against a vet with 5M in gunnery skills) simmilar skills, not skillpoints, both with all turret/missile support skills at 5 and t2 skill at 4 for example. then see how damage compares between the 2. If yhe missile user gets outdmage by a big margin then I'll agree that missiles could use a boost in damage.

Originally by: Grey Area 7. Training turrets is more flexible than training missiles. Once you have trained up for Lasers, all the support skills for Hybrids or Projectiles are EXACTLY THE SAME. If you want to train for anything other than missiles, you have to start from scratch
I probably undertand this wrong, but if you train support skills for light missiles and then move on to cruise missiles the support skills are the same and affect them both dont theye? well apart from guided precision that doesnt affect rockets and torps
