If you get an escalation from an exploration site does the new signature spawn in the other system immediately? Or does it only spawn when you reach that system and warp to the site? Also, are they all signatures or are some escalations anoms? Ta.

Hello twin!
I think the OP was asking when the content (rats, cans, structures, and so on) is spawned into space. For example, when a wormhole sig is created, it only exists in the origin system until someone scans it, warps to it, and (they changed this recently) actually activates it.
So it's fully reasonable to question when the content is created at the coordinates you receive:
- When you get those coords
- When you enter the system of those coords
- When you initiate warp to those coords
I don't think that any of the content that gets spawned is actually probeable using either type of probe, so the answer wouldn't have actual gameplay implications. |

I believe it is when you get the coordinates, but it doesn't matter since no one else can find it (unless they find you at the site).
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

im not sure if its the same for exploration but i know combat site escalations do not appear in the probe scanner until the person holding the coordinates initiates warp to the gate. you dont have to actually enter warp or land on the gate. you can click warp to then stop your ship and the site will appear in space for anyone to scan at that point.
i know this because you used to be able to extend the 24hr window of the escalation by initiating warp to it then canceling and it would give you another 24 hours to complete it. i did this plenty of times because my friends weren't around to help at the time. eventually i warped to one and the gate was gone. someone had scanned it and completed it before me. |

Fascinating! I don't think combat escalations behave that way anymore - I keep my journal open when warping to them, and the number of hours left doesn't change. I also will sometimes be scanning while running the escalation sites, and they haven't popped as "public" sigs (big red sphere) - even when they've been something like Narcotic Warehouses.
I'll do more testing tho. Might be hidden sites out there, waiting for me to snipe. |

Thanks all. This is what I meant.
And yes, the refresh method described above was changed although I think they are going to change them to 48 hours instead of 24h soon.

So, do they appear for everybody to scan or not (currently, before Phoebe)?

I haven't heard anything about CCP changing the mechanics pertaining to expedition sites. Currently and how it's always been, expedition sites do not show up on probe scans.
However once inside the site, your ship and drones can be probed which would enable others to find the site.
