Hi all. I've been doing PI for some time as a source of semi-passive income. Now I want to start using my PI products to fuel the POS in my corp. What kind of PI POS fuelling strategies do you use? I could do with a little help. Thanks in advance. |

1. wait til Crucible (Tuesday). 2. buy new fuel block BPO. 3. make lot of fuel blocks. 4. cram 7 days of fuel blocks into the POS 5. fill rest of the POS with "old" fuels (Isotopes, Robotics, H. Water, Coolant, L. Ozone, Uranium, etc) 6. wait til fuel switchover, take out any remaining "old" fuel, and replace with fuel blocks.
Currently, I tend to keep 14-21 days of fuel in the tower, with at least a month in reserve. |

What do you mean strategy? Do the math, keep the POS from going offline. |

If you are doing PI extraction in hisec, it really isn't worth the effort of trying to do it to maintain a POS.
Instead, I just produce water and oxygen, both reasonably plentiful in hisec, and sell them to buy other fuels.

Generally speaking, a hi-sec PI planet can produce 2400-3600 P1 per day - or about 1M ISK/day in revenue (give or take 20%). A non-faction large tower consumes about 14M ISK/day of which about 7M comes from PI-sourced components. So you'll need some balance of about 8 PI harvest planets to be self-sufficient at feeding a large tower using hi-sec sources. Plus you'll need (4) factory worlds to produce the P2 and P3s.
Just because a P1 is high price, doesn't make it a good thing to extract - unless you find one of the 5% of planets where you get good enough density and longevity. Just because a P1 is high volume and easy to extract, doesn't always make it a good choice if the price is too low. So figure out someway of estimating yield by looking at the heat maps, multiply by the market sell price of the P1, then decide off of that value.

i have been keeping a Pos fueled with only 2 chars..if u dont mind doing a little training on another char on ur acct its preety easy imo.....u will need a 2nd char that can do PI on 3 different planets doing basic fuel like oxygen and coolants,,,and FYI this char is maxxed in PI..may take a bit of hustling to get a stock going but definately doable 07 |
