If you have ships mining in a region that is under attack, can you deactivate their commands and assign them targets?

I'm not sure if you're allowed to/need to deactivate any commands, but they're definately in on the fight if they're in the same region...
So I would say: yes.

Having a mining command doesn't remove a ship from the region, nor does it prevent it from shooting or getting shot at. Essentially it's a ship without a combat-related command. And no you can't deactivate a command outside of your management phase (usually no reason to deactivate any anyway).

You can do both mining and combat (unless of course you fail to survive the combat, or you were the attacker). Even in the online game your basic ships can have two targets, Gabriel. :) -------------------------- Just here for the CCG. :) |

You're not supposed to know that! You're just here for the CCG!
Something fishy going on here...

*Grin* Well, I figured as long as I had to make a character to post in the forums, I might as well take my little ship for a spin. :)
I ran all the way through the tutorial and came to the conclusion that there is a lot of Autopilot in this game. Heck, even the combat is essentially on autopilot (that may change when you get a huge array of weaponry, but only in the degree of autopilot management I imagine). -------------------------- Just here for the CCG. :) |
