These are indestructible. Your appearance will stay the same. Apparently each cloning facility has a stash of clothes, prosthetic limbs, tattoo ink to re-fancy our new bodies.
Cosmetics in cargo will drop or will be destroyed upon popping. |

would be nice if we could harvest clothes from pods somehow with a special device and then the original owner would loose it in process and have to buy again. |

It should and I should be able to cross-dress only by acquiring clothing this way.
Imagine explaining that to noobs. You can tell he is a pirate because he is dressed like a woman.

I can kinda be on-board with this.
To be fair, I really only want Gara to be able to wear the camo pants that female Caldari get in their default wardrobe. Those are seriously the best pants in the game.

Thk You are not actually buying the clothing. You are buying a license to posses a copy of the clothing. If one set gets destroyed, you get a free new copy, at least if the destruction was the result of a pod kill. (Yes, its a little odd).

They can be destroyed if they are in your ship cargohold. Once CCP said the clothes you were wearing were stored in the pod, so they would be available at your destination.
Also CCP said they wanted players to actually use the clothes. If a expensive, but meaningless, item got destroyed on pod death, people would not wear it very often.
This all most likely would have been cleaned up if CCP finished incarna.

No clothing is destroyed upon podkill because Capsuleers are naked.
Im the exception. Im never naked in my pod. I wear an old AC/DC t-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts that say "Its all me" on the front.
Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

It would be pretty nice if there was a way to access any clothing items you own from anywhere rather than having to fly all the way back to wherever they're stored at just to put them on and change your portrait.
Like a sort of 'redeeming system' where we gain access to them wherever we're at, but the physical clothing items themselves remain at the station we 'redeemed' them at (for the purpose of trade and selling them.) The physical items would of course be tied to the station they were redeemed at until we pull them back out of the redeeming system.
I feel this would preserve the healthy amount of risk of moving them around for trade we currently have, but allow us to access them from everywhere. This would also make everything better line up with the lore we have for the clothing items feature.
TL;DR: Essentially a PLEX redeeming system for clothing items. |

Did you ever wonder? There's the vampire in elaborate, Edwardian dinner clothing replete with crimson cravat. He turns into a BAT...the duds fall to the floor. He reappears as "himself" fully clothed... It's almost as good as being buried in a cheap suit and winding up in the hereafter wearing white robes. Is there a dressing room we're not being told about?

That does make some sense, but there you have destroyed pod and clothes with it, but you can't say, you destroyed the right to get that cloth for free in cloning station.
That means clothes are in every cloning station and they are very common. So common, I could forget the clothes in pod and I would get it in another station. I have the right to get it.

Don't think of it that you've purchased the clothes themselves, but rather that you've purchased a license to replicate those clothes at any station's replication systems. It doesn't matter where you're at, whether you have the clothes on your ship or if you just got home via slow-travel in a pod: you can use your digital license (transferred on the same FTL systems that send our consciousness back) to create a new set instantly.
It's also why you can't simply sell a single article of clothing while keeping another. You aren't selling the clothes themselves (as the clothes are extremely cheap, by Capsuleer standards), but you're selling the license to replicate them into perpetuity, so long as you hold that license.

I'm wondering if anyones decided to attmpt getting kinky with another in a pod. Course THAT wouldn't work. Might be able to smuggle bodies though.
I assume getting naughty in VR would be a lot more plausible, kinda like the matrix. Although with all that exists on the internet I can't see everyone doing things the normal way whilst in virtual reality.
I'm going to stop talking now.

CCP Greyscale - Starbases - They need to look @#$%ing awesome, and people need to want them and
want to be around them and have them and use them and like them and want them and stuff.

Thk
Clothing is essentially an unlimited lifetime licence to supply them on demand at any station in new Eden as long as they are shown as being worn in your character profile. That's why they cost so much isk.
stick them in your hold though and they will drop like any other type of cargo.
