Disregarding the current discussion to nerf BMs altogether, how about a new way to copy them? Make it a research or production job that will take like 24 hours to complete, and do the actual copying just before/after DT with the server up but no player are on. And also make it cost money per BM so overblown full sets become a costly luxury while actually needed ones remain affordable. Hell, might even go with something akin to Blueprints, having Boomark originals that you can only create yourself, and Boomark copies that are only good for a limited period of time/limited number of uses. So you can buy yourself a set of copies, even a full set. Then you can create your own originals for the really important ones, and the others will just vanish after a while. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Factory copying uses a seperate system altogether, that's why they had to split the system off as they did. Making them factory copied WOULD help in itself.

its a good idea but thats the whole problem...
it seems the lag is when copying the bms... because they go from the server database to like regular form of item meaning in your cargo/hanger etc... then back... so that process is what causes the lag... this is based on a reply by a dev i think... other solutions have been to make a different way of transfer of bms all together...
IMO its time to remove insta's make 0km possible to warp... because we have the tools to prevent ppl from warping on insta anyway... makes them redundant and just wasting space and resources...
then limit the amount a person can have bms... then you have limit for corp and alliance level... you then have a limit on the active BM's which are shared on the corp lvl and or on alliance level... you would not be able to copy bms but only shar them with your corp like do a transfer... and those will be available to everyone in corp... this would need some kind of GUI to control and manage.. and maybe would be done on server side you put it in and the server when it has time given maybe 5-30min? would do the transfer
this way there is no exploiting in loading/lagging the servers... saves everyone lots of headache... reduces the clutter on the server and on the char lvl... by a great deal... skills would give you some X amount of extra from basic level to have active...
what i mean by active is that those are the bms you can transfer and use.. the others are inactive or locked so to speak... you can deactivate any that you wish and it would be some x min timer to activate others... simple idea server controlled not exploitable by players.

You don't need 0km warps. You can jump at 2500m. Min warp distance should at least be 3000m.

Once interdictors were introduced there became no reason to avoid the 0km warp option. Give us a 0km warp option. And then make it so we can't make new bm's within 20 km of a gate and can't copy bm's that are within 20 km of a gate. And then we can all get rid of our gate to gate bm's which are the vast majority of them And we can keep the few we need for instadocks and safe spots. MUCH less strain on the server.

I don't remember anyone mentioning nerfing BMs altogether... In fact, CCP is giving BMs more priority when it comes to copying and which is basically why the 5BMs at a time restriction...
What comes to reducing the total amount of BMs in the databases, there has been discussion about giving option to warp directly to gate (in all it's variable forms) thus naturally removing the NEED of having gate bookmarks. In connection to this, there has been discussion about nerfing the bookmarks that already are created withing 20km from the gates...
Further, there has been discussion about corporate bookmarks addressing the issue that it's generally not wise for everyone to make personal copies while they could share the same instance. This would remove the tedious task of copying them and when a bookmark is made, it could be shared to others rather than making new copies.
There has also been a lot of discussion about the various ways of making bookmarks (or starmaps) in the future. Ranging from ship modules, specific skills, research type of approaches etc...
So by no means bookmarks will be altogether nerfed from game, we've just reached a point in this game where the system needs to evolve.

Can't mention it often enough. 0km warp from everywhere in system = RIP sucking bubbles
And a dictor bubble right on top of gate dropping the prey at like 10km from gate will hardly catch anyone using mwd, even BS will make it to the gate.
