After reading in another thread that tech 2 may finally be coming (soon), I was wondering how the blueprints will be distributed. Tech 1 was a free-for-all, everyone if they had enough money could buy them off the npc market. In some ways it was good as anyone could aquire blueprints and start producing. Very limited skills were need to produce items (Factory, PE), but ease of getting a cheaper unlimited copy's flooded the market with too many producers.
Now we will have tech 2 soon, we know that the skills needed to produce these items will be alot more specialised therefore not just anyone will be able to make items.
But my concern is how the bp will be distributed..
*Through the npc market? This would be fair in some ways so that everyone has access to them, even though they may not have the skills to produce them. However this might lead to a similar economy to what we have in tech 1.
*Uber-rare agent rewards? We've already seen Miner 2 bp being handed out by Minmitar agents with other factions getting different BP. Again this was be fair as anyone with enough determination (and time) will be able to get the bp they want. I suspect that the agent overhaul that the devs have been talking about may be related to this. Perhaps, different T2 BP will be handed out by different Corps as opposed to now where they r handed out by the faction of the corp your working for.
*Pirate loot/spawn containers etc? This would be unfair as already ppl involved in 'rat hunting get rare mods and equipment. Alot of the time, in T1, it felt like unless ur were out killing rats u would never get anything new. This was another reason for the T1 economy failing as u would loot better items then players could produce, so noone used manufacurable items.
*Events, handouts etc? "Can anyone say Miner 2" . Im not sure how this would work without causing the same uproar that we had with the miner 2 bp. Also, the sheer number of bp in T2 will mean that for it to work, there would have to be serveral events every day (More content? *gasp*).
I suspect that the BP distribution will be a mixture of agent rewards & events. But what about the "advanced skills", same as above? Im sure the devs have mentioned that apart from the standard skills they will all be loot drops, well i hope not as it wouldnt make any roleplay sense that to get "Advanced Drones" skill you will need to kill Sancha Jugs.
I suppose the point of my post is to let manufacturing characters do their job. Afterall it says on the box be a pirate, manufacurer, trader etc.

I think you might have forgotten another way tech 2 items will be made. A tech1 BP researched to tech 2 level. Or that u need tech1 bp + something (new minerals & trade goods) + skills to get a tech 2 item.
So that would give extra value to owning an original bp instead of a unlimited copy.

Id like to have an answer to this question aswell. 
We have no idea how T2 will work. Does anyone have more info on this?

Yes, i remember reading somwhere that trade good will be needed for higher tech manufacturing.
If T1 BP are needed as u say, then all my points would still apply to how u get the adavanced manufacuring skill.
Does anyone esle know how they might be distributed?

If you were to have read the HomeLAN interview with CCP, you would know this:
Tech 2 Items will be released in a full flurish of items, and be totally controlled by PC. No NPC intervention.
Once Tech 2 is handed out, then we'll move onto Tech 3 which includes deployable items into space (Mobile refiners, storage silos, stations, etc).
Tech4/5 is highly radioactive materials and can only be built in PC stations from what I'm gathering..
