Easy. 20 guys pop a ship. Killmails already show a percentage of damage done to the target ship. For each pilot involved, apply that percentage to the total isk lost, and add the result to their total isk killed.
This will make kill whoring of no use to fix upside down ratios.

This will make kill whoring of no use to fix upside down ratios. So, what value do I get for target painting or webbing the target so everyone else hits it harder? |

Logi pilots are asking similar questions under the current system.
I never said the solution was perfect. It's up to CCP to determine if smaller issues can be worked around.

Surely this is a suggestion for the guys who run your killboard of choice, not for CCP? |

I have no favorite killboards, I just want accurate killboards. KM-whoring is a problem. This idea may not be the solution, but it is a solution.

CCP does not have any input into how those Killboards calculate isk efficiency. So..... as said, refer to your prefered Kill board to employ this method of calculation. Ewar could be attributed a flat value relative to the number of people on the KM. Obviously would still be over 100% of the value attributed to people, but not 5000% like in some cases. |

It's not on CCP's end to massage data for use by kb sites. Its on the kb site to massage the raw data given as desired.
Generally for data pulls you want the rawest data possible. About the only exceptions I know of is you accept medical/clinical data may be altered to meet HIPAA compliancy if applicable.
The provider of the data wants this to avoid potential bias in the data issues. If they modify the data it raises questions as to their methods and reasons for doing it .Welcome to data analysis (what this can be at base value), every level of your work can be debated or argued over.
If giving out data like ccp is you want this argument and debate at end user level. So that way the end users can rip each other apart in academic pvp as it were for deemed bad data modification and they aren't attacking you as data provider.
You could start up your own kb site, pull the api data and manipulate the data to be seen on the site to you hearts content to fix your problems. then hope your KB site becomes popular enough to be standard. Your issue here is people like the stats you have issues with. They may still use the other ones.
Well that and lets go full bore here...and remove isk based stats completely from a kb site. Hell lets take if off the km entirely for arguments sake. You'd still get km ho'ing.
As you'd get players trying to get say N+1 cap kills. Or say in my case I will km ho without guilt to get some 0's off my record.
IIRC I only have kb entries for 3 of 4 carriers and 3 of 4 dreads on the combat char. Would I km ho to get that 4th cap race not a 0? Hell yeah. The ocd must be appeased here lol. Even to the point I would get my lowly lights fired from a buzzard at a cap dying to be on its mail if I have no record of killing one. I give can give 2 craps about the isk value, I want the 0's off my record. |
