Assuming the current rates within EVE Online for mining, how long would it take for the players of EVE to mine the metric volume equivalent of Earth's total presence in space? Assuming the radius of Earth is from point to point of the average surface limitation and that's 6,371 km and say the average cycle is 1620m3 large in EVE (is it higher, or lower?) then the total amount of cycles would be about 100bn cycles. |

Assuming there are 1000 active, perfect miners in the cluster at any one given time (totally random figure) and that each of them is using a tanked (no upgrades) Procurer with a T2 strip using a T2 crystal, mining veldspar at roughly 2400m3 per cycle, it would take roughly 4.57E14 cycles. In miner-hours, that would be (roughly) 2.06E13, which means 8.76E11 miner-days (23.5 hours), which comes to about 2,400,000,000 years.

Earth is hollow.
Don't look any further for negative energy, you will find it by being lazy.

So I guess the better question is what percentages has been mined to date? I suppose this is something only CCP can answer. |

I stick my hands out the window whenever I'm warping through a planet to scoop up some free material.
You may wish to account for that in your calculations.

What irritates me is that you want to ask a question ... ... for which you can figure out the answer by yourself easily.
You already started.
Assume all of earth is made of veldspar. Calculate the volume of the sphere ... ... download EFT and fit a mining ship with lvlV skills ... ... and do the math. |

You missed accounting for the tons of meteorites/debris that fall on a daily basis. Over 2,400,000,000 years, that's going to be quite a sum. So let's say 2,460,000,000 years give or take?
