Hello dear community
I'm new to eve and looking for a way to get a bit of money. One or two days ago I stumbled on the EVE Events forum. I love gambling and so I thought this would be a cool way to get some money. No, not by simply scamming all the participants, I am satisfied with only a few millions I simply keep. I hope you can trust me, although I am a new character and unexperienced running a lottery.
So, let's come to business
Facts: > There are 14 tickets. > Each ticket costs 8 million ISK. > The winning ticket number will be decided by the "thunderball" on this page: <Number drawings> > The numbers will be drawn every wednesday and saturday. For the first time I'll only run the lottery on Wednesday, the 13th of September 2006. > If there are less then 14 participants, I'll transfer back your money. > You can buy up to 7 tickets and choose your numbers, either by sending an EVEmail or in this thread. Please wire the money to my EVE character, Felana.
Prize: > The winner will get a Battleship of his choice, which he/she can pick up in Jita. > I'll take the rest of the money (about 10mio) as a payment, much money for me and hopefully still fair
Here is the current status of the tickets: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14.
Please note that because I don't know when exactly the numbers are drawn you should transfer the money before 13.09.06 00:00 EVE time.
If you got an idea for an other lottery page to use (better design, exact drawing time stated,...), please tell me.

1. You're on a trial account. 2. You're in a corp that specifically states that you must be over 15 days to enter it. 3. You joined said corp 11 hours after starting.
Now, I don't mind if you are an alt just for lotteries, but this just kind of stinks like fish a little too much.
edit: also, it's nice to state what kind of ships you can win. There's a big difference between T1, T2, and Faction Battleships.

Thanks for your answer! It is understandable that this might be a fake lottery, but.. well, it isn't .
To go into your concerns: This is not a trial account (it was one) because I already have played with an other character. I had to / wanted to delete it and have a fresh start. Second: The corp - well, when I created the character, I created it mostly with the purpose of becoming a 'big' miner. I searched for a mining corp in Jita and they offered me to join them. Unfortunately I couldn't play much EVE in the last days and even now I'm not mining with them because my time is rare and even when I've got time I prefer answering your post That should answer the third question, too.
I will edit the type of the ship into the first post, you will be able to choose from the "Standard" Battleships like Raven, Megathron, ...

Well if Kazoki agrees we could both talk to you on Teamspeak the same time or maybe there's a way to verify our IPs differ (I bet we live in different countries for example).

Okay, as expected, I can't run the lottery because Kazoki is the only participant, I've wired back his money.

Why did you cancel the Lottery? Kazoki still had the same chances to win wheather other people bought tickets or not. If Kazoki isn't you, then that wasn't fair. If the winning number wasn't won, Kazoki would lose and it would carry on to the next week where tickets are resold.
Or is this just me? *chuckles*

Ummm... Thats why it's called Gambling...
If you introduce and run a Forum Wide Contest/Lottery you must Gamble, to see it through, lose or win.
As soon as that first ticket/entry is locked in The Contest/Lottery MUST go ahead.
Now seeing that you where the only one that bought tickets in this "Lottery" and not worrying about it. Puts this whole Competition in the Suspect Files.
It's Unfortunate cause I love the Lotterys most people put together in EVE. The more merrier. This is another that can't be trusted

Why can't you trust this lottery? I clarified that all tickets have to be bought in order to run the lottery. I have no money to buy a battleship anyway, I would have used the money I got from the tickets.
Sure it's called gambling, but not for the one who is running the lottery.

you can't trust this lotto because
1. you are less than a month old 2. you aren't in a reputable corp (unless caldari provisions is reputable) 3. you have no standings
basically, we can't trust you to actually give back any money

Yes it's called Gambling on all sides, if not I'd love to be your Bookie. And what if all but 1 ticket was sold and 13 other different people have bought a ticket, would it be canceled? your rules say it would be and thats not fair. And why on earth are you Raffling off a prize you don't even have??? How can some-one trust a situation when your relying on a Battleship being in stock to buy at the end, when all the tickets have been bought.

This lottery IS fair, because as a participant you KNOW what will happen when there are only 13 tickets sold: You won't win anything, even if the thunderball is one of your numbers, you'll get the money back. I am not raffling off a prize I don't have - if I have to hand over a battleship, I can effort a battleship. And as already mentioned, I don't think it's possible that you can't buy one of these battleships in Jita at any time.
And regarding "gambling". Well, do you know a real life lottery which you can sometimes participate in by buying your ticket at a kiosk and sometimes by local resellers under a bridge because the lottery company gambled and lost?

And about the BS situation I know there's plenty about, but there's always a what if. And the fact that this Lottery was advertising a prize that's not in the Host's Ship Hanger, is just plain wrong and heading into the Scam Files
