Greetings EVE citizens,
After 2.5 years of playing I've decided enough is enough. Most important reason is the huge amount of time this addicting game consumes, others are boredom and frustration about CCP not caring to fix things that have been broken for so long. I will miss the friends I found in EVE, and particularly my friends from Arcane Industries, Battle Angels and finally Outbreak. You know who you are. It has been a fun ride.
My goodbye gift to the EVE community is the release of the eve-killboard sourcecode, which can be obtained here. It is a slightly modified version, meaning the code related to killboard rental has been removed mostly, to make it easier to setup a single killboard for a corp or alliance. People with some knowledge of apache, mysql and php should have no trouble setting it up. A readme is included. Note that I will not give any support on it, as I am not ingame anymore. Put some time in it and figure it out yourself basicly The database dump included does not contain any kill data.
Do with it as you like, learn from it, improve it, bugfix it, have fun with it.
eve-killboard.net will be shutting down on November 1st, 2006. I will release the full database dump shortly after.
Fly safe.

you have to give the database user read/write rights on the cache map :)
hmm im having the cache/map folder at chmod 777.. portrait rendering works fine but map's wont.
if i want to show just the map-img i get a nice
Quote:
Warning: Division by zero in /common/class.map.php on line 192
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in /common/class.map.php on line 307
is there a server-side image rendering lib im missing?
You seem to be lacking GD GIF support in your PHP installation.

i'm running the killboard on apache 2, php 4 and mysql 5... which brings me to my second problem: is there anyone who can tell me why it won't work on php 5? it just shows me a blank page.
Check if you have GD support in your PHP installation. Also it should work on PHP5 as that's the version the kb has been developed on.

Originally by: Von Dread You'll be missed Rig0r. Thank for releasing the source code, it's a great killboard. One question for anyone that might be able to help. We've been using the Falcon KMS killboardt and I'd like to import all the killmails into this new board. Has anyone come up with a program that would be able to do this or point me in the right direction. Thanks for your help.
Have a look at the Parser class. What I usually did is getting the raw mails into a temporary database table, looping through them and feeding the raw mails to Parser->parse().
e.g.: (untested, may have to tweak paths and stuff)
require_once( "common/db.php" ); require_once( "common/class.parser.php" );
$qry = new DBQuery(); $qry->execute( "select raw_mail from mails_to_import" );
while ( $row = $qry->getRow() ) { $mail = $row['raw_mail']; $parser = new Parser( $mail ); $id = $parser->parse( false ); if ( $id == 0 ) { file_put_contents ( 'failedmails.txt', $mail."\n\n", FILE_APPEND ); $failedcount++; } $total++; }
echo "Total: ".$total."\n"; echo "Failed: ".$failedcount."\n";

I've setup this database on my webhost using Cpanel to and phpadmin to create a database and also a username and password. the config file is configured correctly but whenever I finish running the config.php, I get this message
Database error: No database selected SQL: select scl_id, scl_class from kb3_ship_classes where scl_class not in ( 'Drone', 'Unknown' ) order by scl_class
any ideas?
PS: ive noticed your style sheets are using absolute paths to reference specific URL's for banner images etc... these point to your img.eve-killboard.net address. so those who've got it working may want to change this.
Must be a configuration issue, check you have the proper databasename filled in the config.php.
Right about the hardlink in the stylesheets, some things I did quick & dirty

Originally by: Nimir Edited by: Nimir on 15/09/2006 15:28:27 ok, i managed to enable gd and portrait rendering works now... the damn thing wouldn't work with spaces in the path to extension dir thanks for the help
i also did a little optimization to your portrait rendering code. you can get the image with the needed size directly from eve's server, you just have to ask for it, so i removed the resizing code. now it asks for the image with the required size.
If I remember correctly I grab a big (128x128) portrait from img.eve.is and resize it manually, because of the crappy image quality you get when grabbing smaller sizes directly. Try it out and see Also img.eve.is tends to be unavailable every now and then.

Originally by: AgentDD alright.. as i failed to make my self clear to everyone.. i had to get help from a friend.. and we added my alliance to DB using this command. UPDATE kb3_alliances SET all_name='Rule of Three' WHERE all_name='none' then i set the alliance id to 14 in my config.php file.. and all works.. except for that kills arn't being registered unless u search for a players name.. deahts by alliance memebers are being registered under stats and on the front page but not kills.. so i am at a loss as to why this is not functioning correctly any help would be appricated
That's not right. Do this to fix it:
update kb3_alliances set all_name = 'None' where all_name = 'Rule of Three'; insert into kb3_alliances values ( NULL, 'Rule of Three', '' ); select all_id from kb3_alliances where all_name = 'Rule of Three';
insert the id you get into your config.php.
