IS the eve-mail system robust enough to actually take a spam filter? used in E-mail accounts

Wonderfull simple idea.
simple yes but watch ccp ignore it all i can hope is that the ISK sellers become a much bigger problem and therefore force some action

open Email and right click on the INBOX tab and set it from there

this is a result of a) leaving china IPs on TQ b) not doing enough early on to combat macrominers c) allowing the gamesites they spam to filter thro into channels a simple url blocker on channels and also evemails sent would work - anyway enough ranting we are aware of the problems im just adding many more peeps to my blocklist atm

Put your CPSA charge up to 100k for a couple of weeks.
Seems to put you on their black list.

It's amazing how people just keep whining instead of listening to advice...
I've been responding to all these "EVEMail Spam" threads in the last few weeks telling people to raise their CPSA charge to 100k to stop the spam, but they never listen and keep whining instead...
You can stick your friends on buddy list and anyone else who wants to message you should be able to afford 100k, otherwise they probably arn't important and just more spam anyway!

Can't they just ban the IP's that the spam is being send from? It's prob from a macromining business that wants to sell their ISK.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that CCP don't really care much who farms the game or sells isk or whatever. I petitioned a few of the evemails I got and the reply was basically "by the time you petition this we likely have already banned someone, don't bother us." more or less, that was the sense I got from the replies.
Tired of being reminded about it, unable or unwilling to stop it. Yep, unfortunately that's a reachable conclusion.
WTH are asian players doing on the server when there is a dedicated Asian server? The only reason someone who only speaks Mandarin would want to play on Tranq is to farm and sell isk.

Ouch. Or....They have been playing on Tranq for just as long as you have and don't want to start eve all over again. I know you said "Only speaks Mandarin" but it's still poor form old boy.

I started an alt a little while ago, and trial accounts can't send ISK (unless its a trade) and also can't use escrow.

Then you've been lucky. Doing this doesn't seem to work for me.
I flew into Chaven one day and recieved 2 "isk-mail"s within minutes. Both from random letter character names. Then later, on another char., there was chatter on the noob corp chat about receiving isk-mail. I checked mail and thought I had dodged the bullet this time, but not more than 5 mins later the Eve-mail icon was lit up and it was an isk-mail.
Here's the topper. About a month ago one of my char's recieved a GTC spam in the noob corp corp mail. I didn't know you could send mail on that channel as a noob. And to make it worse, you can't delete those!

Just restrict evemail on trial accounts to 1 evemail every 1 hour. That should reduce the spam significantly and trials are still able to use mail to notify a friend who isn't online. When both are online they can just open a convo.

Simple: implement a spam filter and any reference to the faulty site will not send the mail. (Please don't disable mail use for noobs...) ____________________________________ A gift for pirates |

How about leaving empire?
-> No spam -> No depleted belts -> No ore thieves -> No lag -> A lot less idiots -> A lot less scams -> No "pirates" whose PvP skills limit to knowing how flagging works
So why stay in empire?
Ummm.... Errr... Hmmmm... To buy/sell stuff? Oh, but that I can do with an alt or just my main 1 day in a month and leave the 29 other days for "BETTER SPACE"
