A few days ago I had to go buy a new ship and T2 fttings for it, I went to jita as i know you can get everything from there, without having to travel to seperate places. The lag was really sick and annoying, it got me thinking about how to solve this problem in the easyest way. Anyway I pondered and pondered for some time, then it clicked missions, there are so many people who enjoy doing courier missions ! So the idea... Basically the mission agent offers a supply mission to some remote area, he/she would ask for some T2 or T1 items to be delivered at X and reward you once complete. Once the mission is complete those items will be put up for sale on the NPC market, so the mission runner has payed the cash to the producer, then delivered and got his cash. So both producer and mission runner is sorted and the items are out of there hands, yes this is could also be an isk sink I think.
The price the NPC's resell the items will have to be around the average price and close to what they was originaly bought for, this is the tricky part, people exploiting it :( That i have not worked out but this is just an idea to get items moved around so that you don't have to all goto jita. ___________________________________________________ I want your stuff |

Edited by: Ather Ialeas on 16/09/2006 20:57:56 The real reason why trade hubs exist is because people are there already before the place is getting stockpiled with stuff so the real question is why people are there? In my opinion the answer is simple and can be told to others with this simple "fill the blank" type of sentence: "Out of four playable races in EVE, the _______ are considered as 'easy mode of EVE'."
Hint: It's not Amarr.
So yea, I don't think your solution is going to help. Sorry.

A majority of players don't choose to be Amarr, do they? They choose Caldari. Why? .... ________________________________________________

Most new players choose caldari because they look the most human ---------------------------

And there's a reason why most of us regret it and vets don't choose Caldari that much, when it come to PVP Caldari isn't all that great but this has been discussed in many threads.
As for Jita it has a newbie school, it used to have a bunch of high level agents and not to mention it links 4 or 5 regions together so it just became they spot to buy stuff.

you've got to remember everyone makes caldari chars because they are overpowered argument doesn't hold much against:
a) A noob who's just starting and doesn't yet know whatÆs good and bad (like me, I started caldari simply because I liked the sound of their racial info blurb at the startup screen)
b) A vet who's making a alt char account, he'll research chose the best bloodline for stats then more the char to wherever its needed not necessarily sit it in jita for the rest of its life
and that leaves, erm... well I can't think of anything else

What's up with this constant idea that Caldari suck at PvP? More like missiles suck at 200km sniping, which is a fraction of the pvp that's done on a regular basis.
Even that's gonna change with the adding of the Rokh.

Solution is to institute an undocking tax wherever you have stuff (i.e. ships, mods, etc.). The tax would be based on the stuff you're undocking with and maybe a special no tax for newbies that are a week or two old. In-game reason could be that you are being taxed because the station owners are greedy and they know you have the money. If you don't pay the tax, you won't be allowed to dock in the station anymore.

They need to treat the root cause of the problem, not a symptom.
It's a hub. You can't even get around it without going through it. It's also next to a newb system for the most popular school.
Work on that^^ and Jita will see a *few* less people.
