The nice litte loophole to leave a corp without waiting for *beep*ing 24h by giving the char in question CEO is not working anymore. One of the last patches simply removed the "leave corp" menu entry if you are a CEO. I would liked to see it in the patch notes but we cant have anything.

We just tried with relogging and all but it says the char in question has to wait 24h because it got entries in the howeveritscalled.

A context menu can be a piece of text (at least for me as i'm a Perl guy). I dont know much about Phyton but i'm sure you can do it with a piece of text too. -- $ perl -n -e 'print "Stop blameing pirates! Oveur is the root of all evil!\n" if m/podkill|lost my ship|gank|gate camp|Verone/;'

Just testing a bug, or exploiting it in a bannable manner? ________________________________________________

i find this timer stupid. what exploit can it bring? none at all, dont you check employment history of people anyway before accepting them?
in my previous corp we had issues with someone, we had to petition to get him removed under 24h

If you have an alt thats alone in a corp he cant quit, because when resigning as ceo he has to apoint a new one. I filed a petition months ago to have him and the corp deleted....still waiting.

The timer was added shortly after release due to people leaving corp while a war target was shooting at them resulting in the other guy losing sec and being concorded.

Umm, why not just make another character (or trail account alt) and have him join the corp so that your alt has someone to resign and apoint ceo to?

Edited by: Jiekon on 17/09/2006 11:11:47 you can't quit a corp while in space and you can't be kicked from a corp while in space and logged on either. So that wouldn't work. i`ll have a look at this on monday and see if it's intended or not. ___________________________ ~Jiekon

Edited by: Splagada on 17/09/2006 11:19:43 someone who can harm a corp the most is someone with a role
if that's the case, you need to wait 24hrs. i had to petition, a gm fixed that... but clearly, based on the game mechanics, you have to wait
ceo should be able to kick someone on the spot. just make the killrights and such continue for 24 hours maybe?

No need. You can remove roles on the spot, and then he can't do any harm. ________________________________________________

Huh?
Whats exploiting about it? I was trying to show a friend a few different Corp icons he could make for a new corp(cache issues) so Id make a new corp then leave.
It was pretty straight forward the way I did it and no warnings where there so I sure didnt see it as an exploit.

Well that's reasonable enough. Exploiting would be, for example, getting into a fight with someone who's at war with you, and quitting the corp partway through the fight so he gets CONCORDed for shooting at an NPC corp member. If you did THAT three times in a day, I'd want you banned.
For just demonstrating how things work, no worries. ________________________________________________

I believe that being a CEO does not count as a "role" so when you make someone else CEO you can leave instantly. However, you must have been CEO for atleast 24 hours because when someone make you CEO all of your normal roles are removed and the timer will still be there.
If Player A has been CEO for more than 24 hours he can remove the "role" CEO and leave instantly. If Player B is a director and Player A make him CEO to leave instantly he still have to wait 24 hours due to the roles were removed when he became CEO.
Hope that is understandable
