Ok, I started a big discussion about missiles in the ship and modules forum (tho that wasnt my goal) and I noticed that many ppl say that "they started gallente and now they make an alt so that they could fly caldari for their missiles" comments.
So let me just check cause I asked this before and this doesnt add up.
The race of the pilot DOESNT MATTER. Only thing that matters is what ship you are flying and what weapons you put on it. Ammar flying a Gallente ship with hybrid turrets will do the same damage and be just as good as a Gallente flying a Gallente ship with hybrid turrets. (provided they both have the same skills trained and unless I am wrong they can have that)
So who got it wrong? Me or them?

Correct.
I am Amarr, yet have always flown Caldari. The bonus's are gained from the skills you train and the ship you fly. It has nothing to do with what race of character you chose.

Like you said: Race doesn't provide any dmg advantage on ships.
A Minmatar flying an apoc will do the same damage with the same skills as an Amarr flying the same apoc with the same skills.
This post is not my personal opinion. It does represent the standpoint of every single player ! |

Thanks. Heh, there are times on these forums when someones says something that confuses me. :))
Like why is it a bad thing you roll gallente? You can still get that Caldari missile boat if you want. And be just as good. :)

Them!
I am Gallente and I fly gallente, caldari and some minmatar ships and use there weapons.
To be honest i can hold my own in say a caldari ship with a caldari person in the same ship

its bad in a sense that when one form of weapon is overpowered usually when you start with that race youl train it
if you start Gallente chances are high that you will train hybrid with first priority, drone second, missile third
finding out that missiles are nber will leave you with a lot of unused skillpoints, and thats bad for a late joiner to the game
but fear not CCP will help you out adding the Rhok
