Is there any way to make it at least a possibility that CCP would consider reverting the looks of the Nighthawk back to the way they were in the past? Like, what steps would I or anyone need to take for them to consider making the Nighthawk look nice again? I do not know the process, or if there even is one for an issue as small as hull looks. I love Caldari Missile boats, but I really really really do not like the looks of the following:
Caracal/Cerberus (Wish this looked like a bigger Hawk, or something of that sort) Raven New Nighthawk
I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but it seems like some of the ships have been redesigned into very nice ships (Gila/Moa, Scorpion/Rattlesnake, Exequor), while others have been turned into ugly ones.
I've been using the Hawk a lot lately, and have started training drones because the new Gila design looks pretty awesome, but that Nighthawk... that was the first ship I ever made a plan for in EveMon back in 2008. What did I need to do to fly a Nighthawk? Now that I have the patience to wait for that ship, I would only get to fly a black and red Drake now.
I found a lot of interesting quotes that really reflect my view of Caldari ships, at least some of them. One quote in particular stuck out:
Zhillia Mann in 2014:
Performance-wise, NH got a slight buff despite the missing launcher. Visually, yeah, it's **** now. So do what everyone always does with Caldari PvE ships: zoom out and count volleys.
Are we the only two who think the NH looks like **** now?
On the plus side, the Gila is a good looking ship, and will actually do good dps once I learn about drones. Same with the Rattlesnake.
Anyways, done complaining. Looks or not, I can't help but love the game, and ugly ships don't change the fun factor! |

Nighthawk is a T2 drake, so it looks like a drake. The T2 Ferox is the Vulture.
If you really hate the nighthawk's looks and want a missile command ship, maybe switch to the claymore. It's better than the nighthawk for everything except guristas anyway due to the NH's kinetic-locked bonus and the way that CCP screwed up the slot layouts between the two. |

Although the Nighthawk is now a T2 Drake it used to be a T2 missile Ferox... Long before the Drake existed.
Not only do I wish for a reversion on the Nighthawk; I want a reversion on all the command ships' models. The Space Train looks better than the wedge, I want the Laser Chicken back... and the Brutix looks better than the Myrmidon every time. |

Agree but it will never happen because :consistency:.
The nighthawk is not really worth it anyway as Chris said, I much prefer the claymore. The nighthawk gets marginally more dps on kinetic only, though loses out in all other areas except sensor strength IIRC.
It's sad really, the nighthawk has always been lacklustre and I fear it will remain so. Alas, our claymore salvation ascends all else. |

It might have made sense in the time before the Drake.
But the Ferox isn't a missile boat ... the Drake is. So, the choice of the Ferox hull doesn't make sense, does it? Nope.
Consistency wins over nostalgia.

To YOU maybe.
There are plenty of pilots who wanted this change. The Eos is, after all, the drone boat CS. And which BC is the drone boat? Yep, Myrmidon. So the choice of hull makes sense.
Besides ... the bulbous, wrinkly Brutix is fugly.
Myrmidon and

I stand by this completely.

Screw consistency. Seriously. Consistency gave us the Drakehawk, stole our laser chicken, and turned this into this. Enough with the consistency; it's just making ships look bad.
Except for maybe the new Sleipnir. That thing is alright. At least not a significant step down.
Edit: this came up recently. There do seem to be others who just can't stand the new Nighthawk. |

Except that the Drake model looks better than the Ferox model. The Ferox just looks like a bodybuilder who's been skipping leg day for a few months, while the Drake looks like a spaceship. I wish the Nighthawk wasn't worse than the Claymore so I'd have an excuse to fly it more... |
