A well fit caracal will do a fine job if you have the skills. Caldari in general always have the problem that they tank in thier midslots though so you usually miss out on tank when you fit scrambler + web.
You can fit a caracal nicely anti frigates and can (even with mediocre skills) easily own any assault frigate and most ceptors. -------------- My dad can beat up your dad!

Depends on your skills and wallet.
Caracal and Moa just fine low budget.
But if you got a bigger wallet a Raven would do nice too sentry tanking and stuff or a sniping eagle or a rook/falcon jam the suckers and web/scram them. A harpy with a nice gistii booster can be a nice suprice for cruiser pilot too.
All depends on your wallet, skills, attitude and your own fantasy in this game.

Sorry, but I have to agree with this guy. If you want solo pirating, go gallente or minmatar. For group pirating though caldari and amarr do pretty well.

ark ark, look no further then a crow, no inty is better at the long range tackle, ull move faster then any other cal ship which is what u want if ur a solo hunter, u can only kill some stuff as its only a firg but if ur skills r good and u take all types of damge u can sertainly entertain the idear of taking on multiple enemies at once and takeing some down.
anything bigger and ur having to worry about more then dictor bubbles even an asult frig withought a nanno can be tackled by a 20k scram on an inty before warp at a gate.
though they r exspensive for something with the tanking ability of wet tissue (thats if u run the speed cap needed for effective long range pimping) power diag 2s work nice with a nanno

*******ies i have never had even one iota of probs killing caracals in my ishkur never once! and players with a lot more skills time in the game than me go down easily.
one guy was doing like 6-8hp of damage per missile.
ishkur in nosrange = dead caracal if its got heavies. if its assault launchers even with t2 misiles its still not to hard to take one down,
but an answer to the op a bb with good ewar skills and nos can be frustrating. ------------------------------------------- NERF STABS NERF STABS NERS STABS NERF STABS NERF STABS NERS STABS NERF STABS NERF STABS NERS STABS NERF STABS NERF STABS NERS STABS NERF STABS NERF STABS N |

I am very curious about what makes a good Caracal setup because I have never met one. Caracals always go down. It's to the point where I don't even check the player's age, if I see a Caracal on scanner I go for it.

I've been pirating pretty much my entire eve life (little over a year) and I am heavily specced In Caldari, I have to say, they are pretty screwed PVP wise. I've never died to a caracal and killed a ridiculus amount of them no worries, They SUCK, Our only real decent ships are the ECM *****s (scorp, blackbird, rook, falcon) and the Raven (not as overpowered as some like to believe) and even then, Most of the ECM ships don't function well solo.
Lately I've been using a blastermoa (4x t2 heavy ions, 2x med nos, mwd, 20k, web, medium shield booster t2, 3 pdus, DCU) and having good success killing some wolfs/stabbers/feroxs. But I've also just training up gallente to try out thier cruisers, and I must say thorax = win. I managed to take out a claw/cyclone/maulus gang solo in Oddelulf today in my rax (5x t2 Hvy Ions with null / mwd / 20km / web / small armor rep t2, explosive hardener, DCU, 2x t2 mag stabs). I do love Caldari but sadly, you'll need to train gallente or minmatar to play with the big boys.

What about a Caracal with rockets and an over sized tank? I used one once against a Minmitar ceptor (claw maybe?) and it worked a treat. I'm wondering if I was just lucky or if anyone else has tried this or come up against it let me know how it turned out.
Passcal out.....

Yeah you could kill ceptors and maybe AF's with that. But anything else would eat you alive.

Pick your fights. You wouldn't attack someone in anything larger than a destroyer.
It's more of a 'Joker', no one's going to expect rockets on a cruiser :)

not in 0.0 space. also alot of pirates seem to like cheap disposable frigs and with good skills can be bloody scary

I think ur looking at a ferox really, its better value then most stuff cruiser wise and they tank very nice. U can fit a half decent armor tank and a nice amount of 20k points or ew. And ull be able to go at a multitude of ships rather then small stuff and ui can nail the small stuff in one (just train up pression for long range inties)
