Hello,
I've tried to search for a solution in older topics, but so far I haven't found the answer to the question below, so I hope someone can enlighten me;
I currently have a -2.92 standing with Republic fleet (minmatar) with diplomacy @ 4, which means I can't use even the crappiest low level agent since they all ( ) require a -2.0 or better standing. 'Ok', I thought, I guess I haven't been really nice to those guys in the past so lets try and run missions for another corp under the minmatar flag (republic security services), but I was told that that doesn't influence my standings with republic fleet at all, is that correct?
After a few days of mission running (release drones, aggro, have drones attack, go make a cup of tea, scoop drones, make agent happy) my minmatar standing has risen but not a single transaction to my republic fleet standing has commenced yet. So if it does work at all it'd mean that I'll have to run crappy agents for months...
Basically my question is;
- is there a (quicker) way to gain access to republic fleet - would training diplomacy from 4 to 5 give me enough of a boost to go from -2.92 to less than -2?
Thanks

Well... there's another solution. If you have enough standings with any other minmatar corp, you can start running missions for them until you get enough important - storylines to raise minmatar faction standings up to -2. Then, you will be able to use lowest level agents in Republic Fleet. If it is not your case, you still have a solution: raise minmatar standings through derived modifications from standings raise with gallente faction. So... do important-storylines for Gallentes and check standing raise in minmatar faction until it gets to -2. Diplomacy 5 should make things faster. And well... there are three standings to take in account in order to see if you can use an agent or not: 1. Agent standing 2. Corporation standing (of the agent corp) 3. Faction standing (of the corp faction) The standing that counts is the biggest one on the three from above. As example: Standing with agent: -3.5 Standing with corp: -2.92 Standing with faction: 1.1 The one that counts in calculations is the bigger one so you will have 1.1
Cheers.

Thanks for the answer, and as I do have a positive minmatar standing (I have done a lot of gallente missions) I can access some of the other corps agents which work undre the minmatar flag. The problem however is that working for them doesn't seem to raise my standings with republic fleet at all. There hasn't been a single modification since I started running low level agents for the other corp. (even though I have had a storyline completed succesfully)
Basically I have the following standings: minmatar faction: +1.91 republic fleet corp -2.92 agents: n\a
which, according to what you said should give me access to the corps' agents...
Also, normally (as far as I know), different agents require different standings in order to be able to use them, however every agent, from a lvl 1 q-20 to lvl4 q18, requires at least -2.0 or better..

Actually, I think you NEED a -2.0 effective in ALL three standings (faction, corp and agent) for any agent whatsoever in order to have access to it. And as you can only increase faction standings by running missions for other corps/factions, once you reach -5.00 towards ANY corp/agent, not even Diplomacy L5 can help you get work with that corp/agent EVER again.
Having less than -5.00 faction standing is remediable, by running storyline missions for "friends" of that faction. Corp or agent standings under -5.00 means bye bye missions. __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

I sooo hope you're wrong, but having read the same conclusion elsewhere I'm affraid you're right I would like to have that fixed one day by CCP as there shouldn't be any 'dead ends' in a game which tries to put as little boundaries as possible upon players... Even a lvl 1 agent which would allow people with worse standings than -2.0 would be very nice, I don't mind grinding them for a few weeks...

Meh, "Level 0" agents (no quality), in lowsec/0.0 systems only, always accessable by anybody even at -5.0 standings (-10.0 with Diplomacy L5 gives -5.0)

Out of curiosity, why the obsession with Republic Fleet?
And, no, there's nothing whatever that you can do. You're locked out of that corp. ________________________________________________

You can eventually get to run missions. What you need to do is fail important storyline missions for Caldari/Amarr. As you drop those corp standings, you'll raise Gallente/Minmatar.
I had that problem with Caldari. I was a Gallente mission runner and eventually got my standings with Caldari/Amarr to the point where I was KOS. By failing Gallente important storylines, I eventually got my Caldari standing below the -2.0 threshold. I now have all four races' standings in the positive.

Edited by: Esaka on 26/09/2006 19:17:10 Hm.. the only way i could think of would be, what happens if you get an important storyline mission from a republic fleet agent? Is that not going to happen by default? Will they send you an invitation and then refuse to talk to you (unlikely?) or will you able to run the mission for them? Unless CCP wrote something to explicitly prevent that corps with -2 standing send out storyline missions, i would guess you could repair your corp standing that way. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

Good point. That might work.
Of course, it could be months, if not over a year, before you happen to get a storyline mission from Republic Fleet. There's no reliable way to "rig" which storyline agent contacts you, that I know of. ________________________________________________

That works if your *faction* standing (ie. Caldari State) is below -2. If your *corp* standing (ie. Caldari Navy) is below -2, then failing storyline missions for anybody else won't budge it.
The OP can already run minmatar missions, just not for Republic Fleet. ________________________________________________

Actually I was able to 'rig' it, although the scenario was a bit different. There seems to be the tendency that you get the event agent that is closest to you. Of course I also had it happen that they send me 40 jumps away, though if you run missions in a system that has generic storyline agents in it I would think that chances are very high you also get referred to them. I've used that in the past to get faster standing with a corp, so basicly i picked a station/system that had a generic storyline agent from my target corp, ran missions for normal agents and also got nice standing boosts from doing the important storyline missions for that corp.
Doing a short check on republic fleet i'd say the OP should try it in Hakisalki (low sec warning). It has a generic storyline agent from the fleet, as well as 2 minmatar agents from republic parliament. They both have crappy quality and are administration type, but I think it's the best system to give it a try. There is also another minmatar storyline agent in the same constellation, so if that one gets picked i'd try to leave the storyline mission open so he can't be chosen again. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

The Freedom Extension agents used to give me storylines with Republic Fleet so that may be worth a try.. If the first storyline isnt with that corp dont do it....do another 16 normal mision to get storyline from diff agent/corp
