as long you have the effective standing to Caldari above -5.00 , you shouldnt be killed by caldari navy. if you do cargo hauling missions, then you dont get penalties to Caldari. If you do warfare missions agains caldari/ammar you get penalties to Caldari standing. if you do warfare missions against serpentis/sansha/mordus/angel ... you shouldnt get any penalty to Caldari standing.
I have the same problem, i want to be able enter Caldari space, especially Jita because of trade and i do a lot of lvl4 gallente missions now.

Uh, not necessarily true... here's what I *think* I know:
-> you need a BASE standing of over -5.0 with a corp to not get shot by sentries owned by that corp ; having less than that, even with diplomacy L5, they start shooting if you come within 75km of them (and keep shooting up to 150 or so)
-> same applies to faction standings, -5.0 BASE and you can start getting shot at, even if effective standing is higher (diplomacy L5 gives -2.0 in this case)
-> doing STORYLINE missions (faction standing) for Gallente *WILL* decrease faction standing with Caldari, even if you don't kill a single ship ; it's the "derived modification"... however, it cannot go below whatever "minus" standing Caldari have vs Gallente and vice-versa... sadly, that minimum is ALSO -5.0, so tough luck, you CAN end up "locked out" of Caldari space if you run Gallente a lot
If you're sure it's any other way, please feel free to test it, either on TQ or better still, on SISI :) __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Only way to balance up is to run missions for both sides. Which of course take a lot of work to maintain.

I have a base standing of less then -5 to gallente and they don't shot me. They stopped that exactly the second when I gained another level of Diplomacy, which raised my effective standing above -5.
Also your effective standing only drops below -4.99 if kill gallente ships (e.g. in illegal activity). Your effective standing does _not_ drop below -4.99 from important storyline missions. I'm at -4.99 for quite some while and although i did a couple important storyline missions and gained standing with caldari and friends, my gallente standing hasn't moved. I guess it is to prevent that ppl get shot at, only because they are popular with caldari/amarr. -------------------------------------- Agent & Mission-Info: http://www.eveinfo.com Evewide Market-Info: http://eve-central.com/ |

I thought it was only navy-ships that shot at you, not the sentries. I was pretty sure that all sentries (even though 'faction' owned) where 'controled' by Concord.

Station sentries belong to the corp owning that station. Gate sentries belong to CONCORD. |
