Keep up the good work!
Actually, he asked if it was and I simply answered, I didn't tell him anything he didn't suspect already. The answer also shows that of course there is effort into 0.0, but the initial post from me emphasized that we put effort into 0.1-0.4 especially to differentiate it from high security and 0.0.

Does this mean that the rewards are higher for 0.1 to 0.4 than deep 0.0 space?

I wouldn't mind that. 1.0 - 0.4 tends to actually be more dangerous than deep 0.0, for a variety of reasons.

Not really, not many people are willing to lose security status, you have gate sentries and station sentries that will shoot pirates, and low sec is right next door to hi sec making hauling the stuff much easier.
If 0.1 t0 0.4 is better than 0.0 then we have a problem.

To answer the question about the case when there are more than one possible things that could be invented from a single tech 1 blueprint as is the case with cloaking devices and many tech 2 ships. Initially a random item will be invented. In the future there will be faction decryptors you will use to decide between an Ares and Taranis for instance.

Since you specifically talk about cloaks here: does this mean that you are bringing a t1 cloak BPO to the market to use as the basis for invention here? Or will only people with prototype cloak BPOs (t2 lottery items) be able to do invention here? Choice #2 won't do anything to help the cloak situation.

In all honesty there hasn't been a decision about the lack of a t1 cloak BPO on the market but that doesn't mean a decision won't be made before we patch.
(Also Hammer CCP has no portrait )

Is this also true for Medium Armor Repairers?
Will we see more Medium Nano Armor Repairer IIs in the game as a result? |

Medium Nano Armor Repair Unit II has no blueprint and shouldn't be meta level 5.

What about shield boost amp and expanded cargo 1 bpos? They were seeded via the bpo lottery a few months back, some people are crying for these to be seeded on the market, they are not considering the effort rp and isk that people may have put into obtaining these two bpos. Shield boost amp 1 bpos sell for 10 bill and nobody will even sell expanded their expanded cargo 1 bpos.

How can a name change only affect some and not others ?
Why not? Blood Raiders are Amarr after all?
There are 8 skills required for producing COSMOS stuff, one requiring Hacking and one requiring Archaeology per race.
Renaming 4 of them and giving them new uses gives no meaning to me, check this screen shot it makes it look much more clear.
Quote: These skills are already in the game, but currently are associated with pirate factions (i.e. Angel Encryption Methods). Once Revelations hits the street these skills will be associated with the empires instead (so Angel Encryption Methods becomes Minmatar Encryption Methods). This does not affect those that already have the skill.
1. Now if we are simply renaming, how is there a difference between players who has the skill and players that does not. ?
2. If we are not renaming, but using the skills somewhere else, what about COSMOS production. ?

No, it simply means that 0.1-0.4 has a lot of it's own sites created instead of it simply being populated with 50% 0.0 stuff and 50% high security stuff.

Here's an important question, and please DO ANSWER IT:
If we need to pay for certain components in research points, will you at least lower the skill requirements to run multiple research agents? Because for the love of god, the last thing I need is to spend months of training for the current retarded lab skills, especially considering that the also required encryption skills will already make me dirt poor considering their current market values.

Over exaggerate much? It takes less than 2 weeks to train the requirement skills for research project management.

So, if I'm reading this right, getting a T2 BPO is still:
Grind+Randomness
and getting a BPC is now:
Grind+Grind+Grind+Randomness
It's weird because the POS side of T2 stuff (from my limited knowledge of it) seems to be a fairly well worked out and decent system. You invest money, make stuff, people buy this stuff and use it to make more stuff and so on.
But the actual ability to get BPOs/BPCs is based in randomness and grinding? ----------

Thanks :)

You mean I will not beable to Carebear sit in my humble base and Invent a T2 thingy? You mean I'll need to enter 0.4 space and scan for a complex then haul required stuff to that invention place to (MAYBE) invent a T2 Thingy?
My luck, I'll find a invention place in a 0.1 system and by the time I gather what I need, it will move to a 0.5 system. Gotta love life in the Eve Universe. Eletta VIII Moon 19 University Store Manager.. Over 230 different items on sale at greatly reduced prices. Minerals always needed |

Isn't it the other way around. You need to find those invention places and take things FROM them via the use of certain hacking/archeology skills? Then you use a common lab slot to research with the materials, skills, and the BPC. - Three years old |

Well i'm disappointed i guess.
Been training for science and research for quite some time. Haven't had much luck in the t2 bpo lottery so I do have a bunch of RP.
I was hoping invention (and reverse engineering i hoped, apparently only invention is left with a small RE aspect, that of using t1 items in the invention process) would solve a lot of the t2 issues right now (availability, costs etc).
However, you need quite expensive skills, items which drop only from complexes which really require exploration skills (they hop around). A lot of it will be (ofcourse again) in low sec space (seriously, when you see the money you can earn in low sec it's just sickening to see yet another thing for which you really want to be in low sec). Add to that the fact that most of the good R&D agents (high Q, high lvl) are in low sec space.
Then we have the stuff you need to trade your RP for. The return isk per RP might be very low if you need a lot of it just to receive a bit of profit. To research t1 bpo's up real high you need time and a science slot. I fear the return for all my work is gonna be incredibly low. If you just learn gunnery/missiles/tanking all the time you can prolly earn enough cash to just ignore the current high prices.
This career is looking to be rather non-profitable atm. Why the hate?? Combine the negative ME/PE with the costs in time, effort (getting the drops), isk, RP and why would anyone go into this?? t2 BPO holders currently have idiotic profit margins, so they can drop their prices incredibly even just killing the competition (example: t2 med drone is about 200k isk to build off the bpo, if I need to charge at least 500k to make it worth all the effort, costs and RP, the t2 bpo holder can just sell at 300k, still making a nice profit and killing all my efforts with a single market order..)..
Now I don't mean to dis the t2 bpo holders, but with the chance based system and the negative ME/PE and the fewer runs and the state of science slots atm, this is just too much in my opinion.
Question: How do you invent? Do you use a R&D agent (kinda like the locater agents) or do you use a manufacture slot or a science slot or a new kind of thing?

I think your correct.( I need more coffee ) Could we get a better flowchart?
What skills will be required ? Where shall we purchase required skill books? What Science&Industry slot will we use ? Looking at the earlier Flow chart then I would need: T1 BPC.. That can't be ME researched as such slots are filled up. Data Core .. I guess found in complex or purchased from R&D agent. Data Interface .. I guess also found in complex or purchased from R&D. Optional Tech1 item.. percured the usual ways. Optional Decryptor thingy.. maybe found in a complex or recovered from a looted ship.. I'm guessing..
So is this about the Idea of Invention?

Are basic item BPO's (Like Basic Cargo Hold) T1 items ? I know there is Cargo Hold I BPO in game already thats why I am wondering about it. If they are can they be used in invention (You would ofcource still need Cargo Expander I for Cargo Expander II production).
Other than that question quite clear. Not quite waht I hoped for but still better than current 'lottery only' system.

You might be able to use a mobile lab at a POS... so either go low sec or get idiotic high standings with your entire corp and build one in high sec (either way quite an investment).
As a high sec carebear I feel that low sec has a lot less to complain about, but I won't go in to that here.

While I can't say I like the requirement to go to special locations to build, the other portions I think are great. It makes those advanced science skills actually worthwhile to have at 5 for people who don't own a particular tech II BPO. One of the better ideas so far.
