Lots of them, hopefully. America is big, you want to narrow down your request a bit? Or would you rather come out to Chicagoland and go to www.games-plus.com? -------------------------- Just here for the CCG. :) |

Well, there's a list of cities I'm currently targeting over on this thread. There's no Louisiana cities on the list, but that doesn't mean no one there is interested. Hit up your local store(s) and have them sign up here and email me any questions they have, or get their permission and send me their information yourself. I'll get a hold of them and explain what the game is all about, or help them order if they're interested but haven't been able to find a distributor. I'm working to get Second Genesis into as many stores as possible, but I'm going to need a little help from you guys out there to do it.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] --- Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator CCP Games |

If they are selling the CCG through the major hobby distributors (Alliance, ACD, etc.) then if your local game store is any good, they will be able to order the cards for you.
A lot of lesser known games don't get widely distributed through the hobby stores until the public starts asking for it, but as long as the big distributors carry the game it is *available*. As I said, a good retailer will special order for their customers.
If they aren't selling through distribution, my first question is why not? because what that means to Joe Public is that the game will be harder to get. The publisher shouldn't HAVE to know the names of each and every store that carries their games - they should sell to distributors and let the distributors do the job of getting the game into stores but help out through effective marketing and promotions. A publisher makes less money per game by going through distribution but the majority of the time will make more in the long run by selling a lot more games.
Why do I know this? I used to be in the business.

There is no reason a company as large as CCP shouldn't be able to find a distributor. But if you are talk to Aldo Ghiozzi. He was my consolidator the whole time I was in the business and I recommend him highly. His website is at www.impressionsadv.net . He got my games into distribution and I wasn't NEARLY as well known as you guys are. Talk to him if you are having trouble getting into distribution. Basically what he does is represent a number of game companies to the distributors, they place orders for many of his clients' products at the same time which encourages them to take chances on products they might not otherwise have done. Since you've got the entire MMORPG fanbase behind you I can't imagine why you wouldn't get picked up by Alliance et. al. anyway, but in any case I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't pick you up if you were represented by a consolidator.
You can contact me ingame if you want more information and to find out who the heck I am that is giving you this advice.

Oh, no worries on finding distributors. We're being carried by just about everybody, so a store should have no problems ordering the game--once it's actually released. I think it's that last part that people are having trouble with. It seems there's a big game of Telephone being played at some stores, that goes something like this:
Player: (to Store) I'd like to buy some EVE cards. Can you order some for me? Store: (to Distributor) I've got a player who wants some EVE cards. Are you carrying those? Distributor: (to Store) The game doesn't release until Oct. 30. We don't have the cards yet. Store: (to Player) They said they don't have it.
This has been an EVE Forum Players Production. All proceeds from this show are converted to ISK and donated to the AgentZero Needs a Battlecruiser Fund The vast majority of these cases are just the result of misinformation, so don't worry. Any store ordering from the major distributors will be able to get EVE once it releases. --- Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator CCP Games |
