Is it to possible to remove a password from a container without repackaging it? I was experimenting with various security options for corporate hangars and in my testing, I set a container password. Now I can't use any of the blueprints in it so I'd like to remove the password. Unfortunately, I don't see an option for this and the Set New Password window won't accept a blank password. And since it's a station container, I can't repackage it for another 3 weeks, leaving me with a container that's pretty much useless.

Yes it can be changed pretty easily.

There's a command to be sent existing passwords for specific containers. Use that, then ... careful next time.
Anyone with any sense has already left town.

You misunderstand. I didn't forget the password - I just don't want the container to have one anymore. I'm using it to organize my blueprints but as long as there's a password, I can't actually manufacture any of the blueprints in it. That's what makes it useless to me.

So you want to strip the pw off of a container so you can rip off the contents?

It's not ripping off the contents if they were mine to begin with. I should hope that removing the password would require me to know it (and/or the config password) first. But since the container is able to exist without a password when first assembled, I assumed that someone with appropriate access rights would be able to return it to that state.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

You give me too much credit. George Clooney already has me beat in that department.
Anyway, I'm going to assume that there is no way to clear the password except by repackaging. Guess I'll wait the three weeks.

Set the name of the container to the date, and leave it alone for a month, then repackage it.
There is no other way. |

And unless they changed it do not check the container log to see how long time is left till repackaging, checking hte log counts as last action performed and resets the timer ...
Edit : hmm or was that failing to repackage due to timer not up that reset it ... |

Totally agree with you, at least give us the option to reset password...
That is why I use freight containers... |
