Of course, this takes things to a whole new level of effort and expense and you're probably going to have to offer a hefty premium on top of that to convince people who live and operate in hisec to rack up piles of killrights on themselves, assuming anyone would take the job in the first place.
Such an organization would have to be CODElike, as it is not really possible to identify NPC alts on a large scale. Focused mass ganking of NPC corp/1 man corp freighters and jump freighters could REALLY hurt in the long term..
I should add that you still couldn't shut them down entirely. A properly operated Jump Freighter is virtually immune to hostile action, even moreso in hisec where they can just jump to an exit cyno as soon as they notice anything suspicious. You could still be effective, as it forces their haulers to expend much more effort to move cargo (and in post-Phoebe EVE, you feel every stop on a detour) while raising the bar for "too dumb to live" by a significant margin, but again the costs and effort would be inordinate and probably beyond the scale of a 30-man merc corp. |

Probably got a bit of a twang to my comment after his **** attitude but I didn't intend on threatening him. But yeah would that even have been a bad thing?
Since he just hides behind his blog where only the comments he approves are made public I'll just leave this here:
"Just to clarify I did not "threaten" you to join GSF if you don't give me money. I was negotiating a contract on behalf of Forsaken. You have a tendency to talk down to people in an arrogant fashion with an extreme sense of entitlement. My last mail to you was explaining why it simply wouldn't be profitable for a mercenary business to work under such conditions. Then you decided to blow everything out of context and misrepresent the situation because you're delusional.
Is it any wonder why people refuse to work with you..."

Good catch - the wild ineffectiveness of highsec mercs due to the simple ability to drop corp, or restrict yourself to low value ships, is a result of them lack the official Veers Belvar seal of approval.

By that logic all pvp is ineffective due to the ability for people to stay docked, log off and go play Chivalry.

Except that forcing people to quit the game is certainly an in game accomplishment. Forcing people to trivially drop and reform corp, or accomplish precisely the same in game objectives in cheap ships is not. |

Dropping, reforming corps, being forced to fly a worse ship, these are all factors which can be demoralizing and frustrating. If it was so easy to do, then no one would ever die in highsec.

Demoralizing and frustrating to spend 37 seconds dropping and reforming corp? Here is a news flash - the only folks really dying in highsec are new players, casual players, and criminally negligent bittervets. Anyone with minimal experience and practicing routine cautionary measures essentially never experiences an involuntary loss. |

No, people who operate in nullsec certainly die routinely. Ditto for suicide ganking victims, etc... But as far as mercs, the ability to effortlessly drop corp makes them well neigh useless. |

Think of the miners and industrialists! Would they sell as much ore and new ships if it weren't for mercs creating demand for new ships?
Obviously in your case, with your superior understanding of the game, the mercs cannot hope to cause you harm, but not all players are on your level Veers.

Well Veers for a large portion of the Eve population dropping corp every time you have to go through highsec is too much of a bother and a disruptive hassle. If mercs were so ineffective, none of them would be getting business and no one would ever die in hs...so deal with it.
Edit: Gobbling Goblin...this could have been for you. Clearly Forsaken has trouble killing 2.5 bil per week.

It allows Gevlon to claim those killmails for himself. That's why he only pays for war-dec fees. |

Gelvon fails to understand by just paying the Dec fee and not more then that goons become nothing more than targets of opportunity. Gelvon expect us to meet your quotas every week without making them known and not paying us more to focus on your target. As mercs we take on multitude of contracts where we make a profit to focus on the wars. Gelvon wanted us to focus without paying more, which was never going to happen. I do like the extra targets, but not being paid extra for a quota match is just bad business practices. |

I might disagree with one or two sentences but most of what you wrote is spot on! If he wasn't so arrogant, he'd be better able to "fight" Goons but his expectations are far too high.
Also MoA might be okay at killing CFC, but they were doing that anyway before he came along. And they weren't that special when I was there either. They had a nice core of PvPers but most of the alliance members were quite lazy and just did PvE stuff all the time. Not sure if that has changed lately. |
