Just the guys who make girls, now. When you make that girl do you make
a.) The girl of your dreams. Meaning it'd be a dream come true if she were real and ... actually would speak to you?
b.) The girl who got away...because she ran a helluva lot faster than you?
c.) A close approximation of mumsy at age 18?
d.) Your neighbor's wife...the one with marksmanship experience?
e.) YOUR wife, girlfriend or sister?
Thanks for responding. This has had me curious for a very l o n g time.
Treason never prospers. What is the reason?
Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."

I just keep hitting Random till I find one that looks decent. Maybe a little tweak here and there, add clothes, and off to the races.
While I don't go there to design a dream girl or anything, they aren't women I'd turn down lol.. Well with the exception of one, but she's Caldari, and I donno what happened when I made her..
As for why, well if I'm gonna play the game, I'd like to have something nice to look at between missions, fleets, whatever :) |

I'm my second favourite anime character (and has been for over two decades) and she's my interpretation of what she'd look like in the Eve universe sans tigerskin bikini. My favourite character (this girls fella) was already taken.
Thanks Trebor for making it REALLY difficult to get the DVDs for Urusei Yatsura outside of the US by the way. It cost over a 1000euros just for the TV series not to be a pirate.
For the rest my mains are all male, alts are all female. Two of the girls look like ex's but it wasn't intentional when I made them. On second thought that's BS. I was with one of them at the time I made her and she's unsubbed atm because I'm not exactly fond of her. The rest I fiddled with for a bit until I got bored with them...kinda like real life. |

i have 2-3 of these accounts/characters.
My old roommate I let 'create' them, and he did them based on some of my favorite movie actresses- he'd find one of their photos (from a movie poster or something) and then try to mimic the pose and clothing and features etc.
One of which i've gotten 3 times now "X your char looks like Y".
Honestly my character design model is the following:
Step 1.) Hit random, three times. Step 2.) Name Character Step 3.) Create character
Lets just say some turned out better than others, long and the short of it I don't really pay attention to any avatars though. |

I'm a lifelong artist. I don't recall why I started Achura (oh yeah, my roommates told me to), and aside from that, there was no irl motivation for starting with Achura base features.
Each race in EVE has different restrictions on the topography of the face (as you know). I suppose it's to maintain a distinct look for each one, and I have to say it's successful.
The last generation of avatars didn't draw me in, and I didn't spend much time on them.

This latest gen of avatars, however, had more promise, so I spent more time.
Their features were restricted somewhat, so I didn't try to fight that to make them look like anyone in particular. I did, however, follow some basic artistic / facial geometry guidelines to make them attractive, starting with 6636. Placement of the eyes, mouth, and width of the nose, softness of the chin... all made to look appealing using the rules I observed in my art.
I spent a resculpt copying that character's face to 6635, and meant to do the same to the rest of the rains. But after successfully reproducing 6's facial features onto 5, I realized I was losing their individual identities. 5 and 6 side by side.
Their RP is they are exact clones of another character of mine, but it turns out I'd prefer them to look slightly different.
My other resculpts include this character, who has that unmistakable (and indelible) Eskimo / North East Asian look. So I went with it. Didn't try to subdue it at all. She's proud of her heritage.
Another one is this Deteis femme, who I made every effort to kill that damn Deteis chin. I see a lot of Deteis women who got hit with the big chin gene, which I think is a shame.
As for why women avatars... I don't know. I seem to always pick the strong female characters. It was the Rogue in Diablo, femme Shep in Mass Effect, Female vault dwellers in Fallout.
Oh, though I do have a thing for brunettes with fair skin and ice blue eyes. So if I ever allowed myself to idolize any of my characters, I'd have to say it is this one.

Thanks. 8 was actually an unsuccessful attempt at cloning 6 again. I cloned 6 onto 9, and jumped straight into trying it again (with 8)... but the process is hard on the eyes, and I got sloppy.
Observation is an artistic skill, and when you're doing it, your eyes are basically doing physical work. It takes its toll.
I felt relieved after 8 turned out different than I had planned, and she's the one that made me realize I should keep variety in their faces.

I made my characters based on what I find attractive. My logic is that it is more enjoyable to stare at a female's... assets when in station than a male's, at least for me.

That's interesting.... i don't have any kind of artistic background, so the new avatar system proved very tough to exploit. My first avatars were horrible and it took no less than 5 resculpts to create the definitive version of Ishtanchuk. When creating Indahmawar, I had enough trouble with making a beautiful face as to bother with RP. Yet when I rescultped them later, I tried to give them a modicum of family face, specially the noses.
What was really difficult and led to some crazy moments, was figuring how to make up them. Again, with no artistic background, I had to learn with a mix of basic color theory and specific beauty tips from women websites (Like: "make up tips for blue eyed brunettes"). That often conflicted with CCP's art choices on what colors are available for make up and the fact that our avatars wear no make up foundation (so Khanid cheeks are permanently colored, FAI).
It was fun and a bit weird, but I think it was worthy. I think that most of time my girls are decently maked up and that contributes to the "make them beautiful" intent.
(Anyway, I change make up patterns less often than clothing and pose... making up is difficult!)

For me, none of those really. Not at least consciously.
This character was resculpted a little while ago and certainly didn't fit any of the OP criteria originally. Nor does she now.
Of the three female characters I have, each of them are different and I didn't initially put much thought into any of them. When this particular character started to become almost a 2nd main (if that's even possible), I just thought she 'deserved' more effort than whatever the CC generated for the start of the creation process.

My characters are not modeled off of anyone in particular other than a few of them being sisters which is reasonable to think they would look similar to each other. They are just my interpretation of what a decent looking female Achura would look like to me. I have never really intended them to be supermodels or anything like that.
This particular character has been rescupted several times just so I could get that sister look nailed down and I think I have nailed it now. I'm very happy with her.
I have noticed that I tend to stick with rounded facial features, dark hair, greenish eyes and an average healthy weight with my characters. l have tried lighter hair colors in the past but it usually always ends up going back to dark/brunette, guess that's what I prefer
Grrr.
