I was flying through Angel Cartel space, minding my own business when I had a pop-up that said something to the effect that Concord infiltrated the Angel Cartel, and were sending in a fleet to extract some guy. I received this as I was cautiously moving through the system, so, when I warped to a moon to double check the jump gate with my scanner, I was surprised to find myself 300km away from a very large Concord fleet. Several battleships and cruisers and whatever else may have been there. Was this an event mission, or was this some common occurance. I haven't been in Angel territory before, so I wasn't sure. Any input would be welcome!

Come on guys... someone else has to have seen this? I was in Jamunda - Jamunda - someone else had to have seen it, or know something about it? If not, it seems some GM came up with a wonderful little story mission that no one did anything about.

Y'know, I don't think it was us. It may have been a CCP thing, but that does sound pretty strange/not like them.
Either way - as far as I'm aware (after asking around), it wasn't an AURORA event.

Did 'minding your own business' involved warping to a moon or planet by any chance?
And did you get the popup when you gave the warp command?
If yes, they were NPCs. You see them more often - sometimes theres Amarr fleets too. You can kill em if you fancy, though id not advise it alone. Sometimes they have an agent with them aswell, but i never got those to work.
Stay the fck away from my sig, thx.

I have heard rumours of similar fleets in Venal and such, you can kill them to get standings to run the local agents. Like I say, only a rumour..

I believe I received the message while warping to a gate, not a moon.

You warped directly into a 'hidden' DS complex, maybe even a leftover from an event or another. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |

Nope, theyre just static spawns that give you a small story pop up when you warp to or near to them, theyve been there since exodus. -----

yes, which 'should' eventually, allow you to run the local pirate faction agents. Loose enough standings with concord, and I'm sure the guritas will start talking to you eventually.

I didnt notoice any standings gain with pirate factions when i killed them, all i lost was concord standing, which has no effect on which pirate agents you could work for. -----

Yup. Every pirate faction has one, IIRC. F.ex. the one for the Guristas is, I believe, at Y-W1Q3 P1 - M1 (99% sure; I haven't visited it in a while so I can't confirm positively).

Edited by: Jimbob McKracken on 23/10/2006 19:29:52 Yeah - me & a friend killed them once - they drop crapy loot even though there is an officer present - standings drop with concord - although you do get some concord tags which make you look like a real bad mofo and are really good for impressing the exotic dancers at our outpost's strip club in G7...........
