The Caldari ships are supposed to be named mostly - after birds. However, doing websearches - the only bird I could find for a Ferox - is actually commanly called a "Flycatcher" and we know the Flycather is an interdictor ship. The Ferox was in the latin name for the "Flycatcher" And that bird - certainly does not imbue someone with the sense of a battlecruiser.
I did find an ancient worm and a carnivore animal that looks like a Mongoose.
So - when CCP came up with :Ferox" - what were they thinking of?

I'd worry about ship names like Merlin or Kestrel or Bantam. How's that with animal connections?

Correction, a scorpion is an arachnid. Insects have 6 legs, arachnids have 8.

Would'nt really class a rook or blackbird as a bird of prey. Rook is a scavenger and the blackbird is pretty much a garden bird
And ROFL at the large wooden badger
