I am having some trouble installing EVE on my comp I have tried installing older version s I had burned to CD's and then patching them, also tried DL-in the newest client and installing it but I always get the same error message. ---------------- NSIS Error The Installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus.
You may want to contact the author of this install to obtain a new copy.
It may be possible to skip this check using the /NCRCcommand line switch (NOT RECOMMENDED)
-------------
Now the DL should be ok. I have done it several times always the same error.. As far as viruses go I ran my antyvir and came up clean.. I am stumped..
Any help would be apreciated.. I am going loco since I can't play my precious EVE

Are you 100% sure the current download of the EVE Client is correct, the MD5 hash of the file should be:7be7a5d52a907a4a388bf21f0924d0e1 You can check the md5 of the download by obtaining the md5sum executable from here, placing the md5sum.exe in your C:\Windows\System32 directory then issuing the following command from the CMD prompt (Start -> Run -> Type "cmd"):md5sum \path\to\EVE_Setup_25245.exe --

this is what it told me.. So I am guessing that it is corrupt download then.. I have DL the client some 5 times now.. Using a DLmanager and without one.. How can I be sure I am getting a nice clean DL
Thank you for replying btw :) .::In the truest sense, freedom cannot be bestowed; it must be achieved::. |

Edited by: Scetrov on 11/10/2006 20:29:40 Unfortunately the only thing you can do is try downloading again, my personal preference of Download Managers is Free Download Manager from here. If someone else here with a fast net connection can confirm the MD5 of the client install it would be good. --

Dont put stuff in your System32 folder just so its in the path. Generally a bad idea to drop things into system32 or even WINDOWS.

It dosn't make a huge difference to be honest. It is much simpler to say drop something in System32, than to explain how to add the path of an executable, or to tell someone to put it somewhere and then specify an absolute path.
I downloaded the client setup last night and got the following MD5 sum for the file: 72abbfdd57dfc6f4ac3eaa9a719a12ac It looks like there may be a problem.
