Hi. I want to build a POS in 0.5 space, for my personal lab use only, mainly ME and copying work. Assuming that I can handle all the prerequisites (faction standing, etc.), what is my optimal configuration?

1 small control tower
1 mobile lab
Was there anything else you wanted to do at your POS? Refit and store ships? Store modules and ores? Do you want defenses, or are you not going to worry about it?
Every module you add to your tower increases fuel consumption. If you can keep it simple, you may as well do so.
If you do want defenses, it would be helpful to indicate which empire's space you'll be building in.

small caldari tower
3 labs
1 corp hangar array
1 jammer of each race
1 warp scrambler
1 small long range gun OR 2 small short range guns

For a high sec pos.
-small tower
-corp hanger array to store 30 days fuel.
-Labs to taste.
-Small gun or two.

It also depends on what size and race tower you want to go with.

Thanks for your replies.
To answer: I'm not sure what race tower, etc. I'd go for. I am pretty sure it would be Gallente space, though. How does that make a difference in the POS configuration?

If you're going to be in Gallente space, then the local ice products will fuel Gallente towers; if you use a different race's tower then you will have to haul isotopes in from elsewhere (or pay someone else to do so). So that would steer you towards preferring a Gallente tower unless you have a specific reason to go with a different one... and that in turn would steer you towards hybrid turret batteries rather than missiles, lasers, or projectiles.

for a 0.5+ pos I would personaly use a caldari tower. Just load it to the gills with the EW mods and the attackers would have major issues even targeting the tower in the first place.
BTW - This only works in 0.5+ space. In low sec dreads can be used and when in seige mode EW doesn't work on them.
