100mn Tengus/Proteii will be abused like crazy on things that matter, combined with Arty Claws/nados and bombers to quickly alpha defenders off the field.
With the current meta this new system gives the attacker way too much advantage. Capital ships will be too slow to stop a capture in progress if their cycle time is nerfed. Tanked up T3s, or Command Ships can still be alphaed off the field by Arty nados or just flat out bombed off the field by bombers. The defender would have to resort to 100mn T3 fleets just like the attackers.
The only way I potentially see this working would be if the module itself were restricted to BC and larger hulls. This prevents the abuse of interceptors and 100mn T3s which would be nearly impossible to counter, but still allows for some sneakiness (i.e. blops fleets) and decent defense options (i.e. brick tanked command ships).
The new proposed system as it stands is very unbalanced and gives entities with lots of warm bodies like the CFC or BRAVE a huge advantage vs entities like N3 or PL. Though it would be the death of the southern and eastern rental empires too. I still disagree, sebo'd EWAR frigs can just land on grid, quickly reset several inties, warp to another perch and repeat. One ewar frig could easily reset the cycles on 2-3 inties every warp, with a 2 minute T2 timer I'd say that's maybe 6-9 inties per EWAR frig that won't be able to get out of their first cycle and relatively risk free if suitable perches are already setup by an organised defensive fleet. Worst case scenario they burning through T1 EWAR frigs and just respawn in station. edit: And then of course that leads to a meta with lots of remote range sebos, eccm to keep their inties alive - but gimping their combat fleet to do so.
Because this is the game we want to play. Jamming out intys for four hours each day sounds, in the immortal words of Buddy the Elf, 'awesome'!!!

Interesting input thus far. Interesting as it all is trying to wrap an old way of doing things with a new situation. Suffice to say this new SoV process is intended to create an EVEplay that hasn't been seen. It seems to bring a lot of dead areas to life. It seems old habits aren't going to work. "Which ship?" Every ship. You've got till June to get a clue. First one who does eats the donut.

Anyway, as D1ck (1=i) is not an unheard of first name where I live, I have no problems with it. I will tell my neighbour across the street that a future fleet doctrine in EvE online will be called after him. That said, I have removed a rule breaking post and those quoting it. This thread has also been moved to Ships & Modules. Oi, where'd my post about Johnsons, Richards, Woodies and Wangs go? Those are all genuine names of people you know...
you rang?

If you can keep a ship of your own on grid then you only need to jam them and reset their cycles a few times each, meanwhile recap the structure to 100% then the rest of you can leave just the one defensive link there and the whole interceptor fleet is negated by your one dude. |

I was hoping the changes to null sov would have brought in something better than no fun allowed troll fleets or FW style capture the space flag/button with extra bits. |
