I recently got Eve-Meep and I'm still learning how to use it, but so far it seems very nice. Thanks for all your hard work.
I was also having the crash at startup problem. When I first tried Eve-Meep, I started the program, loaded up a character xml file, and started experimenting. When I tried to use it again the next day I would get the splash screen and then crash. I tried starting over with a fresh copy but had the same problem. Then I realized that I had deleted the character xml file after loading it into Eve-Meep. So I got a new copy from the Eve-O website and Eve-Meep started fine. I then moved the xml file from the desktop (where it was the first time I tried Eve-Meep) into the Eve-Meep folder and the crash problem reappeared. So I moved the xml file back to the desktop and everything was fine. I then copied the file to the Eve-Meep folder, started Eve-Meep, and opened the xml file from the Eve-Meep folder (using File-Open). I then closed Eve-Meep, deleted the xml file from the desktop, restarted Eve-Meep and everything worked fine. So it appears Eve-Meep wants the last xml file it used in the same place the next time it starts. Hope that helps track down the problem.

Yep, you would be right, and thank you for finding a work-around. I thought it was from the saved filepath... Looks like I need to put a check into EVEMEEPv2 to catch this. And done. Ill test this a few different ways to make sure there wont be any more start-up crashes. Zeonos, I think a few peopl ehave had a similar problem when they load their main's data in their alt's name is displayed instead. Its a bug with how I coded the reader, but it shouldn't affect anything major (and will be fixed of course) ------

I just downloaded eve-meep and it looks very nice, however everytime i try to add a blueprint to the database it just comes up with an error when I try and add the blueprint. Also how do you get items into the program do you have to add in each and every one of them?

thats strange... can you tell me the error? Also make sure your not trying to add something thats already there. And right now the only things you can add are blueprints and only one at a time. This feature was only really ment as a means to add missing blueprints in the event that there was something missing. ------

It was brought to my attention that the tech 2 page also does not display the tech 2 ammo properly, leaving out the basic materials such as tritanium and pyerite. I believe this is a program bug, and would require another version update to fix properly. So, hopefully soon I'll get another version out with this fixed and the new probes moved from the tech1 page to the tech2 page. I should also include the fix for the xml path bug... ------

all the asteroids are listed, just not alphabeticly. Try typing the name in, or just P and se what is suggested. ------

I tested the tool and I think it is very neat I wonder if its possible to set/save prices on advanced materials somewhere? Would be cool to be able to calculate prices on T2 compents -> T2 ships, without re-typing all prices eery time. Xerxes

Heh yes that did occur to me and has been written into EVEMEEPv2. When you get a final cost for an item (not the sell price) you can save that number to use later. I am also messing around with a possible manual editor for the data, but we shall see how that goes. ------

Hey bud, the program looks great. I will be passing it around my Alliance and to most of the industrials to see what you think and my best friend will be looking at it too. He's made a few web applications that we've kept in house that does the same thing. Also, you have a e-mail waiting for you from me that could possibly help you out. I look forward to hearing back from you. --- Place Sig here (Help a man with no Sig, Eve-Mail me if you can make me one.) |

Quote: Suggestion:
Allow saving of BP inventories from "Your Inventory" and "Corp Inventory" to specific files.
For example:
Corp has rig BP's, and battleship BP's. I'd like to be able to load the inventory containing only rig BP's, only battleship BP's, or an inventory containing both.
Alternatively, a filter option to allow which BP's to display (ex. Display all battleship BP's, with ME < 3 ) and so on :)
Suggestion: Add the ability to compile prices for rig components (ie charred microcircuit). I'm assuming this one is soon to come since Revelations is so new :)
Suggestion: Allow personal/corp inventory of the items from the BP's, for example, mineral and salvaged material stocks. :)
Suggestion: A feature to calculate the related materials from a stock and predict the closest BP to manufacture.
ex. I have 100 charred micro circuits and 4 smashed trigger units. Which rig am I closest to producing?
Comments: Thank you god. I was about to go through all the rig BP's manually to get at their required materials :P
I would like to second this - as loudly as possible :-) I'm pretty new to EVE and am trying to understand many things at once. However I have been pretty successful at salvage and have amassed a decent size cache of materaisl from which to build rigs. I also have access to most of the BPOs through a friend. I would love to be able to input what I have, perhaps what items are selling for, and be able to know what I can build\sell to maximize profits. For that matter I'd like to be able to look at what I have to see what I can build that would be most useful for my own ships! This is akin to a bartender app where you tell it what mixers you have and it tells you what drinkes you can make with what you have on hand :-) Lastly, I'd like to be able to lookup an item and quickly find out what rigs make use of it - for instance I salvaged an item the other day I'd never seen and according to market data lots of people want but no one is selling. Before I sell it I'd like to be able to lookup what it's used for building to help me determine is selling it is a wise choice at any price - make sense? Being able to load up corp BPs, my ownBPs, or RIG BPs as seperate loads might also be very nice. As it stands now I'm not 100% sure which is a rig and which is a "normal" BP requiring ore or other materials. Since my focus at the moment is rigs from salvage this is frustrating :-(
My thanks for your hard workon this. While I'm a ways away from being able to fully utilize the app I can see the power and it almost does what I need specifically

Right now Eve Meep can easily find BPOs. Just clear the field where the BPOs are listed and type the first few letters of the name of the BPO and it will give you a drop down list of BPOs that match the text. --- Place Sig here (Help a man with no Sig, Eve-Mail me if you can make me one.) |

Now that I wrote the item look-up that shows where the items are used, its actually really useful. The downside? The data file containing items went from 3 megs to 8 megs... I blame Tritanium and pyerite, which I think refrence just about every blueprint. Thankyou DrAtomic for catching the bistot bug, it has been corrected.
To give an update, what left on my to-do list is: -Rewrite Mining calc so its easier to figure out the mining values -Convert the reprocessing and invention calcs over to new version -Any other new feature I may or may not be playing around with
Back to work! ------

Very nice program. Will help me alot. One question however, according to Step 3 in the Mining tab, i only need to have each ore processing skill at 2 as 3+ yields no extra minerals. Is this true? Or a bug in the program? or am i going wrong somewhere?

This is true. I have refining to 5, Refinery efficiency to 3, and omber procesing to 2 and I get 100%. The ore processing skills help at the lower efficiency stations (30% as opposed to 50%) to bring it up to 100%. You will never get more than 100% refine rate as well. There was a good picture of a spreadsheet with colors and percentages somehwere... ------

with refining 5, RE 5 and specialty to 4 I still only get 99.5% at a 50% station (before taxes of course). I've got a few training to 5 now and will check to see if I can actually hit 100%.

Eve-MEEP is pretty good. The only thing that it is missing is the facility to queue production jobs. E.G. I'd create a job for 1000 standard missile launchers - eve-meep then keeps a record of it, along with reminding me how much I sell for to break even and how much I sell for to make x amount of profit. That way when I deliver the job in EO, I can sell it straight away without having to calculate the job again.
I can do this now by just keeping track of my production jobs in a spreadsheet/paper - it would be more awesome if eve-meep could do it

I'm working on this, but I'm also trying to work in where you can set production scheduals for an extend length of time and then be able to see how much minerals you need every x days or whatever to continue production.

Nice tool , it would be cool if in a future version you could have nested component build costs for ships like capitals. Was looking at the chimera build cost for a friend considering capital production and its slightly skewed using the program's calculations.

Starting automaticly? That shouldn't be happening. At all. Check your WINDOWS/Startup folder to make sure its not in there, nor any shortcuts to it. Also just to be sure, check where you extracted the app to and make surenothing is telling that folder to run at start-up. ------
