Just wanted to ask some questions on manufacturing.
Firstly Production efficiency, am I right in saying zero PE is 125% of blueprints mineral requirements reduced by 5% for every level down to 100% of face value at PE5?
Secondly, what are the calculations to work out what effect Mineral Efficiency has on mineral requirements of a BP.
Lastly, I have read its not worth researching the BP past level one production efficiency is that correct.
Sorry if this is another duplicate of questions asked many times, but I would appreciate some input.

Correct.

Look around www.eve-i.com for mineral calculators .. sorry I don't know the formula

Correct-ish. The maximum (current) effect of production efficiency is a 5% reduction in production time. This is usually achieved in 1-10 researches of production efficiency . | Join eve-webring.com to promote your site. |

The waste involved in any production job is a fraction of the basic requirements to build.
For mineral efficiency 0, that fraction is 1/10. Min.eff. 1, it's 1/20; ME2, 1/30; ME3, 1/40, and so on.
Consequently, researching from ME0 to ME1 will cut the amount of waste shown by half; from ME1 to ME2, by a further third; from ME2 to ME3, a further quarter; and so on. By checking the current research level and amount of waste on any given bp, you can work out what then waste will be after you finish researching it to any given level. Needs a bit of algebra, but nothing too scary.

Here is a link. Don't thank me but give the author the credit he deserves and help him out where you can.

Laven, personally I am of the belief that there a LOT of reasons to research a BP beyond 1 level of Mineral Efficiency. Why?
1. The profit margins are very thin when selling many items. Squeezing as much profit as you can from your minerals often means the difference between a profit and a loss when manufacturing and selling.
2. For ammo the time required to research a level is very minimal. There are few good reasons not to fully research an ammo blueprint.
3. For ships and very large pieces of equipment, the time to research is pretty substantial. The payoff in mineral reduction is substantial too though. I like to keep my corp's ships constantly researching if I can. It may only shave a percent (or even half a percent or less) off the cost of a ship, but when you're talking 9 million trit or a couple of thousand mega, the lab rental fee pays for itself very quickly.
4. Equipment is the middle ground, sometimes it helps, sometimes its not worthwhile. It all depends on the individual item.

Thank you all for your input. I am not so sure the Crimson site is accurate certainly on the costs but its a good guide.

So is he. It was Production Efficiency he mentioned as being a waste of time to research

Heres how helpful Production research is. I researched my heavy beam bp to 75 Prod. In that 10 days it took or something like that, it went from 600 seconds to 595 seconds... --
