Serpentis is a joke in their few sovereign systems, this hopefully will change but nevertheless, that's a fact at present.
Here's my suggestion; Take away all out of empire faction pirates laying claims to empire belts and replace them with small regional bands, each having their numbers set and/or timelimit on how long they'll be active in that region before being routed/annihilated.
Make waring these bands rewarding with mentions in the news and special rewards for winning a conflict with them. Unique conditions for the conflicts would be easy enough fielded events in itself.
Between factions being removed the belts should be infested with rogue raiders. This to re-instill some fear in players when finally coming across the now once again dreaded serpentis.

You'd want new and interesting powers aspiring for dominance over a region wouldn't you?
Serpentis all over is rather tiresome, at least to me.

PLAYER FACTIONS!
let a player group make their own faction (like the CA faction, or CFS etc)
and let them make agents etc.
this way the player factions/alliances have an in-game appearance - and they can declare their alliances/emnity towards existing factions too.. -----

Problem with that is that those entitys you mentioned already are obscenely huge, I was hoping for more diverity, not more CA ships.
Player employed agents on the other hand...

What about just some small stations with rogue bandits appear at a moon, with a set amount of hits till it's destroyed? It would so make it worth going out every day to explore a few systems. Space is too empty.

I'm sure we'll see the demise of some and the rise of others among the NPC megacorps but some smalltime action too would be nice, not everything need to be on a save the world scale.

Edited by: Ris Dnalor on 28/11/2003 04:06:12 I always thought that player corps should be able to hire their own npc agents.... contributing player-made missions from time to time that he could see fulfilled... & of course the agent would, i'm sure, have his usual regular missions that he'd need completed as well. the player corp could potentially fill large orders of ore or minerals, or any item in the game i suppose, in that manner tralala
maybe agents could also be the solution to the current bounty problem? instead of a free-for-all, maybe people could contact agents, & contract a "hit" on a certain player... then other players going to that agent might be offered a shot at taking out the mark.... with a time limit, of course, & a last known location of the mark... ala locator service-type info... then if the player didn't tag the mark within the alotted time, the npc agent would start offering that mission again... It'd much more difficult for someone marked with a contract hit as opposed to a bounty, to claim the reward for themselves. -- Jump Drive Operation / Rank 5 / SP: 1280000 of 1280000
