Not sure if this has been brought up before...
Could we have a module that would increase the de-cloaking range of a ship? The T1 would increase the range from 2km to 3lm, and the T2 to 4km, for example.
Drones are already increasing the range by orbiting around a ship farther than 4km, I believe, so such a module would not break anything and allow ships without drones to give up a slot for such increase...
That would be neat!

this sounds like it would go to the afk cloaking sticky. Plus it seems pointless when you can just MWD your way around and decloak them

itt...member of bad corp that cba to bring one drone boat to drone guard a fast ship for bumping and its ccp's problem while posting on an npc alt. I will take a wicked stab and say faster lock fitting also mystifies them even for general camping.
Or they are trollling, badly in fact. So which is it op? Nether really good here....fail trolling or fail corp? |

There are so many viable strategys to decloaking stuff. It not needed.
Just to name a few:
Approach with mwd Orbit gate at 10 Cans Drones Fast lock & high alpha (some people are slow at cloacking;)

You can do the same thing with a fleet with drones today with the right spacing between ships.. so there is nothing new except not needing any drones, but just a slot for such a module.

An AFK cloakie that does not select a dumb location to go AFK will not be caught currently by a ship flying around with drones, so it would not be affected either by such module.

Right, it makes it easier to decloak ships on the gate. Basically a module for the lazy.

The point about my suggestion was exactly to bring some benefit in that area that is currently only obtained with drones.
You can disagree on an idea from someone else in a better way, for example, explaining why in your opinion, ships with no drones should not be allowed to have an increased de-cloaking range. That would be way more constructive to the topic.

No...its good advice. You are camping wrong. 1 fast lock tackle/bumper ship. 1 dps on call. DPS with drones to guard the bumper preferred. A booster of some kind for a 3rd not something you'd kick out of bed either. Link booster or something to help with instalock (or get as close as you can) . Not doing this bare minimum setup and hoping to catch covert ops cloaks or people running normal cloaks and doing mwd/cloak trick you are wasting your time for the most part.
You are looking for a one man camp for cloakies. Its not happening. Closest I have seen or done is dictor drops bubble, place decloak can in bubble and sit on it with a recon like rapier (gun rapier, the old one). This still a 2 man job even if dictor bubbles and leaves. He was still there to drop the bubble. Recon preferred for cloaking itself. Bubble catches a fish your can't reel in because its too big....your ass stays nice and cloaked up to not have the hunter become the hunted worst case lol.
