As Mining and some other things here (as travelling) are plain broring, it came to the idea to make them less boring at first hand and give a little buff, to what are you doing as well.
I've played a while ago Star Trek : Elite Force 2, they had some "minigames" within the game, to solve small problems, i rather liked that.
Maybe something else could be done to mining, so that you have to calibrate the laser, maybe punch up a bit their yield, handle System conflicts and so on. On Traveling such a system could be used to get you warpdrive to work faster, with the risk of failing it for some minutes when bad configured or give some small damage.
Just an early idea, maybe i post more on that when i have firmer ideas. --------------------------------------- Member of UU : Diplomatic Corps |

Edited by: Blood Gutter on 20/10/2006 18:41:57 No. Just... no. The only thing that makes mining tolerable is that you can do homework, or trim your toenails, or forum***** at the same time.

I believe there is a similar idea mentioned under "In Development" in the patch notes section. (Why those sections are under patch notes I don't quite understand). Anyways, it suggests that they might make asteroid belts so that you have to scan for them before you can get to them, and then they will move periodically. Also, in order to find better roid belts you will need to have better skills/equipment to scan for them, or something like that. Sounds like a good idea for screwing with macroers.

Hmm, this actually sounds quite interesting.
Theres slight problem with this though. if asteroid belts move, insta bookmarks become useless in mining (which is quite nasty because of pirates in low sec).

Ever tried fitting something besides the mining laser to a barge? Even piracy requires some brain so I suppose you are a lusy pirate.
