MC taking on ASCN or BOB, after the fallout we have in the south now?
1. ASCN changed its standing towards MC as +2.5 in order to 'build a bridge' so that MC doesn't strike ASCN after the war with IAC. True or False? --- False. MC was set back to +2.5 to be like it was before the GREAT sneak attack. It will keep ASCN from bumping MC ships at gates. Beside, MC would never strike anyone without getting payed.
2. The other reason for standing change, is so that ASCN can negotiate a hire of MC. True or False? --- False.. MC don't care WHO hires them. When the 'lease' on killing IAC is up, I am sure MC would take IAC's moneys to take back the stations and hit the former clients.
3. It has been said that ASCN offered lots of ISK to MC. (10s of Billions in ISK. Possibly 50 or more in ISK.) IF ASCN does offer MC this amount of money which can be used to build several outposts, would MC accept the offer of ASCN and start killing BoB? IF ASCN DID offer MC and MC rejected it, what would the reasons be? IF ASCN DID offer or is willing to offer MC to hire, then why would that be? (appart from just killing bobs.) --- I have no idea if they offered and what, but 50 billion, that is silly. Anyway.. ASCN offer 50 big, MC reject because they don't want to attack the target. MC whould not go kill BOB for ASCN. Nodes can't even hold ASCN, why do you believe it could hold MC+ascn+bob?? however, if ASCN hire MC, I guess they have other fishes to fry than BOB.
4. Would MC decide to attack ASCN once the IAC contract finishes? -- No. MC would not be able to take another contract again. Each time they roll out, ASCN would fly in from Delve and Paragon soul and just pwn the **** out of the MC constallations POS's, stations and people left behind. Don't think ASCN would have a hard time to get MC's targets to pay for the POS's they would anchor in MCs backyard to take the MC stations... This is the same reason that MC won't fight BOB.. they live to close.

It's not really fair to ignore the losses of the FIX and KIA in your total as all three forces were working together.

Our private killboard accounting estimates MC/KIA/FIX losses since 10/06/2006 as about 14 billion. This takes into account market-value pricing for Tech2/faction equipment and ships (not just mineral value). This is a lower bound, as we know for certainity we've podded some of you with high-grade slave sets and snake sets.

Our killboard only counts ship insurance value, so you can multiply the damage dealt to you by at least 2.5 then. :) -

Disagreed
The success or failure of an MC contract (which was what Kaiu was referring to when he said it was a "public humiliation") is weighed by our client. The client was happy - no humiliation. Then it comes to us, where we look to killboard and weight how successful we were. 16/2 - no humiliation. Then the public looks at it and makes a determination. Kaiu (Tribunal as well, apparently) feel that the MC were publicly humiliated for whatever reason.
Tribunal seems to think that the success or failure of an MC contract is determined by the combined losses of every party present in the conflict. FIX and KIA? No offense to either party, but their losses are theirs, not ours. The "public humiliation" the MC is facing is because some feel Prohibition contract was a failure. We respectfully point to our killboard and disagree. No, the 16/2 numbers are well deserved - they're a credit to MC members and to the IAC+friends (just look to the two dozen MC BS's slaughtered in one day).
What's not fair is holding someone else's losses against us and weighing it against our contract. It'd be different if we hired KIA/FIX, but we didn't, so let them answer for their losses.

Im sure Seleene is just writing the acceptance memo now

So what your saying is Mc is in Bob's pocket? Any MC care to comment on that?
Does my post lead u to believe that ? MC will take a contract on us. I mean obviously, i dont know what MC will actually do, as im not them. But im pretty sure they would. So there clearly not in our pocket. But im quite sure 50bil doesnt really cover their projected losses from taking a contract on us. Any one can see that. They have invested a lot of time and effort into getting where they are. There not going to throw it away for peanuts.
well its what you said so yes, you basically said MC are in BoB's pocket. maybe take them 11's off before you choke?

That is a very good point. Even it was seen as an anti-IAC coalition, you cant count other mercs losses into the picture against MC here. ____________________ MOGarmy

IAC contract summary thread:
I'm writing up a War Story that will provide our point of view on what happened last weekend. That should be up in the next couple days.
In terms of damage dealt / sustained, I could post those numbers, sure. It would show that MC alone has a sick Kill:Death ratio. In battleships killed alone, we did more damage than almost any other contract.
However, FIX was flying with us the first week, and KIA the last week. A lot of what we accomplished was part of a joint effort, but here are the two important parts:
1.) We have an enormous amount of respect for the defense that IAC managed to pull together. Thus far, both sides have avoided an ASCN / BoB style smack contest because the people who were actually there don't feel the need to beat their respective chests... at least not too hard.
2.) Now this is the important part, so pay attention: the only person's opinion who matters to us in this was happy. That's the entity / person that made my wallet blink, also known as the client.
The people in EVE who consider hiring the MC to do a job don't really pay as much attention to these posts as some might think. Every serious client I've ever dealt with has been smart enough to come directly to myself or another MC CEO and ask their questions about our abilities and our performance directly. In short, those who can afford us didn't get rich by being easily swayed by alt posts or flame threads of any sort, be they about MC or not.
I do enjoy the free advertising though. Yet another thread that has "MC" in it. Bravo!

So Basically then Seleene and the Entire MC should Refrain from saying they are Mercenaries. Because if the Fear of losing their carebearing systems because of BOB Wrath is a real factor then they are Not Impartial.
Their Decisions on contracts are BOB Centric and Not Truly based on Merc/Highest Bidder decisions.
Would love to have Seleene explain this one for all of us.

As far as I know, the MC used to be on a retainer in the event that BOB was ever in jeopardy of losing Delve.
This comes from when we, and I was in BOB at the time, were preparing for the invasion from the Coalition of Dead Alliances. The word was, should we ever find ourselves without any other option, the MC would step up and help secure the region.
You have to remember where the MC outpost is, and that it is in their interests to protect the region as well. Now does this extend to never taking a BOB contract? I don't know. As far as I'm aware there is an understanding in place, so that should the MC actually ever be contracted, BOB gets the option to buy the contract out, although I have no proof to back that claim up.
So make of it as you wish.
You take what is offered. And that must sometimes be enough. |

Regarding MC and IAC, for all we know they could have been contracted to go to G-7 and suicide, details were as usual kept between MC and the contractor. And as long as the contractor is happy MC have acomplished the job. Some people are talking about "public humilliation" because (like BoB) we getting used to the PR ways of MC of: "we're uber", "we kill them all", etc... For example the UNITY war we seen them brag, "we went in war ended in 2 days" and this time it didn't ended that way (I still say the contractor was IAC's leadership to provide some fun for their inebriated members , but that's just me)
My question in the end of this is: If the objective was not to WIN, why hire the probably more expensive merc corp in eve? To go pew pew some IAC guys I'm sure plenty of people would have done it cheaper. Why move a Capital fleet to go put some poses into reinforced if you not to take it down? That's just a huge waste of time, cos with the servers like they are now it can't be fun
Anyway that's just a rhetorical question because I'm not expecting you to divulge your masterplan :)
And Hans, we miss you mate. I took the afternoon off and we all waited in vain for you to show up. We wanted to say HI Was really expecting to have some fun that evening

You would not believe the different reasonings we get from Clients, some are really weird and wacky and well, some people in this game do have money to burn hiring mercs for whatever reason they desire.

Well, they would. If you paid them enough.
How much is enough? Well, I imagine they would be looking for compensation for three outposts, a new home, a loss of income, plus the cost of the contract in terms of time and ship losses.
150bn should cover it.

Just wanted to add to this rather derailed thread that K/D ratios DOES NOT tell you if a contract is successfull or not. Sure, if one was hired to go in and kill as much as possible with minimal losses then that number can be used as a measure of success but tbh, these days its about bigger things, much bigger things. An example:
Goal: Take over Region/constellation X, Kill all POS, Take OP, Put up new POS's. Ships/structures killed: 134 total, value: 3.4b Ships/structures lost: 2323 total, value 32b Goal completion: Yes. OP is now in new hands, all target POS are down. Target evicted.
Contract success: You bet'ya!
In this case the ISK lost was just means to an end. And thats the way it always is! As long as the goal of the client is met the # of ISK to get there is not important. (As long as you can sustain it and keep fighting ofc)
In the MC vs IAC case the plan seemed to have been "Smash stuff up" and "Take OP" was a bonus. In the end the client wasnt willing to pay for that final push for system take over. That is bad news for IAC and MC who enjoyed the battle but good news for the Yaarrdware who could use a break.
Cheers, Lowa
