Now that Thera has been around for a while, I'm interested to know what the general WH community thinks about it. Has anyone living in WHs the traditional way moved to Thera? Any thoughts, inputs or comments are welcome (especially if you've visited the system I call home).
Planning a trip to Thera? Check out http://eve-scout.com/ for a list of the current connections.
Once you've made your choice, join the channels EVE-Scout or Furtherance Public and request a scout to make sure your connection is clear!

Thera is a fine nullsec system and an awful wormhole system.

When it was announced, I was excited about the possibilities. The times I have visited I have left disappointed. Station games, "hunt for red october" and general lack of activity were my experience. The large number of exits is interesting but since others have likely blazed a trail out each of them any possible prey was spooked and scattered. That and I suppose I underestimated the value "pride of ownership" has which left other options more attractive. |

Thera's sole value is in providing lazy people a way to get from one side of the map to another, and to provide Spectrefleet and Bombers Bar a way of assembling said lazy people into one relatively easy to find location so 80 fool in bombers can sit around waiting for the bait to get taken.

The vocal minority of ~tru wormholers~ say Thera is not w-space, and seem to dislike Thera in general, as demonstrated in this thread. To a point where some people seem quite angry about that, why would you be like that, I don't even know.
If you are in a wormhole corporation, and you feel your evening is a bit dull, just innocently say in corp chat somehting like "hey i found this wormhole to Thera, it looks pretty fun, id love CCP to add stations in W-space in the near future", guaranteed fun.

Complaining about Thera makes as much sense as complaining about frigholes. Neither removed or replaced anything, its just extra stuff which you can, but dont have to, use. Some find it nice content, new opportunity etc, same dont. If you feel the need to loudly whine about everything you dont personally find useful then you surely lead a busy life...

The new structures will be making Thera more interesting for those that live there and able to keep control of system, as they would be the only ones with structures outside the stations.

Quite interesting to see how most of the WH community isn't too interested in Thera. I think Thera is more of a 1/2 and 1/2 between NPC 0.0 and normal WHs. I do realy enjoy living in Thera, and I appreciate being able to store my stuff in a station where I know it'll be safe (like BPOs and stuff). Having lived in NPC 0.0, Sov 0.0 and HS, I prefer Thera to all of the above, as it also gives me the opportunity to PvP with all types of EvE players with not very much hassle in the way of travelling. I can see how it would be nice to "own" a WH system, and have more control over who is in the system, and it's quite hard to do in Thera.
PS. VoC and Bombers Bar had TCUs outside of their prefered stations, last time I checked, so they "own" the stations

Pretty sure the only people that like Thera are the people already living there....a....
Personally, I moved from a regular wormhole to Thera and have no regrets. I love the nomadic lifestyle it allows. I'm happy to be a Therapist
Other wormholes seem pretty boring by comparison

The good : -No local -Long warp distances -there is a market
The bad: -station games are realy terrible and destroy the mad max feel w-space has, wich make it not w-space but thera space. I do hope local will be banned all over null sec though, it is to safe.
Not sure: -many entrances is good for lots of places to go and lots of people to come in contact with bad for any in thera pve |
