at full skills, at least this much:
gallente cruiser V signal suppression IV recon IV
using Remote Sensor Dampener II's
-how many to reduce a standard raven (75km lock range) -to 20km -to 10km?
-how much of a difference if you have
signal suppression V recon V?
am training for arazu atm and i want to experiment with safely getting into nos and web range. yes i know arazu is supposed to be long range ship
but after you jam them to the moon you can get in real close and laugh at them so i am wondering how much it is possible to do.
i did some calculations last night and with max skills and 5 RSDII you can reduce 75km lock range to about 8.5km am i close? or is it not possible?

Hmm, an intriguing question.. I don't think one can scientifically measure 'damp'. At 0 dampness, something would be dry, but at what level of dampness does it cease being damp and instead simply become wet?

- remote sensor dampener II does... -48% ? - with arazu and cruiser V, i'd say it's going to be -60% - with signal suppression IV (V), i'd then go for -72% (-75%)
recon itself doesn't give a bonus to this module.
raven 75km -> 21km (18.75km)
if, and that's a big if, i understood the term "5% bonus to Remote Sensor Dampener effectiveness per level" correctly

that 5th sensor dampener isnt really that useful unless your target is pretty sensor boosted. the dampeners have a stacking penalty applied to them when they're used on one target. also they take quite a bit of cap to run, so 3-4 is a better idea.

From memory, I think phased muons (best damps) do something like -68% on my Lachesis/Arazu, and I have the spec skill trained to 4.
Yes, it's evil.

Sounds like the right ballpark value, by my experience.
P.S. Use Phased Muons if you can instead of t2 sensor damps, they are better than t2 (same stats but easier fitting and less cap use). Same goes for other EW types: Balmer is better than Tracking Disruptor II, PWNAGE painter is better than Target Painter II, etc.

5 RSD II to get 8.5km lock? Thats some amazing stacking penalty... (1 damp from 75 to 20 some, then another 4 to get to 8?) I don't think so.
At Cruiser 5, Sensor Supression 5 and RSD II (or best named) you get 29.25% damp. Or -70.75%.
Quickfit numbers VS Raven (90,000 target range): 1 DAMP on Target Lock-Range (stacked) : 26325.0m 2 DAMP on Target Lock-Range (stacked) : 10137.69m 3 DAMP on Target Lock-Range (stacked) : 6045.23m 4 DAMP on Target Lock-Range (stacked) : 4835.03m
Now, yeah, quickfit can be wrong... but its not that far off. This part is great...

Ah, you're right, I was too lazy to plug numbers into QuickFit (and didn't notice the original question specified 75km target range, which is on the low side).
Anyway, 4 damps from an Arazu or Lachesis is enough to drop your average bs to "well below 10km". How much that is precisely depends on a lot of factors.

That part is why you don't need 5 Damps to keep your target out of combat. 4 Damps will have nearly the same effect, and with 15 attempts over 300 seconds, the single multi-spec jammer you fit in that 5th slot will send them back to square one before they manage a lock. :D

One other thing - make sure that he doesn't have drones out before you attack, because whether he's damped or jammed, they'll still give you a very bad day, very quickly.
