I will post Amarrad later. It has many more words, therefore it will be more work.

If this is canon, please source it. I've never heard the terms Amarrad or Caldarian used to reference the respective languages in any of the novels. Also not the appropriate forum- Might want to try EVE Fiction. |

Oh? I figured Gal had the Asian roots due to the Jin-Mie? That and the Achura are originally apart of the Gal Federation to being with, I would have thought that the Gallente would have more of an Eastern Dialect then the Caldari.
I'm just wondering where the source is. =P EVE's Lore is a thing I dabble into from time to time.

Pretty sure nothing in the OP is canon/found in official lore. However, in 'The Burning Life' there's a part about 'Caldari Takeout' which describes the food as Asiatic. Additionally, there are references to Caldari culture in 'The Empyrean Age' that continue the Eastern themes. |

All the player races have an Asian race. Achura, Jin-Mei, Khanid, and Vherokior. There were added in the Bloodlines expansion in 2006. Presumably to appeal to Asian markets if I am not mistaken.

I'm quite sure the Gallente have strong French roots. Seeing as so many of the systems in Gallente space are basically French words and most of the Gallente related stuff sounds French. |

I remember when this lexicon of terms was created by players, they named the language "Napanii", which I personally think is pretty cool.
While "Caldarian" is used extensively in "The Empyrean Age" and "Templar One" It's always made me cringe to read it, same with "Gallentean".
Typically Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Matari are used when it comes to referencing races, and these are the standard outside the novels. Matari was actually a player created term that went into circulation back in 2004, and was adopted as canon because it works so well.

Oh, for reference also, I forget where I read it, but there was a player study of the languages of New Eden a few years back that summarised origins quite nicely and seemed to fit:
Amarr:
Latin Arabic
Caldari:
Finnish Japanese
Gallente:
French
Matari:
Icelandic Old Norse
Of course, these aren't canon, as we've never really written anything in depth about the languages of New Eden, but it'd be cool to flesh them out at some point

I would say calling something Gallentean is perfectly fine, depending on the context of the situation. You even use both to refer to the same thing: You wouldn't however get someone going "I am Gallente" as thats pretty much the same as saying "I am Britain" - the only time i could see that as coming up is invoking their particular bloodline as Gallente ("I am Gallente, hear my holoreels"). Most other times they would probably refer to themselves as Gallentean
I refer to pretty much everything from the Caldari State as "Caldari"..

I'd be a bit surprised that A. there's no obvious English influence anywhere, and B the Matari tribes don't have any roots the various African languages.
Would we potentially find some other earth language roots in the Talocan, Sleeper, Yan Jung, and Jovian languages and cultures? |

neat. I know there is another space game coming that had a stretch goal to make alien languages. And though i though that was silly for a game that has yet to be released, i think it could be interesting to flesh out the ideas of the 5 racial languages, with jove begin the 5th of course. It would give some role players a new way to play, and could make for some ah interesting conversations at fan fest

I'm Arabian and I can confirm that some of the Amarrian words originated from Arabic. but in some way they are not very accurate , for an example:
Soul in Arabic pronounced Ruh (Roh), in Amarrian runh I don't know if the "n" is silent in the pronouncing or not . Sahibe in Amarrian means holder, but actually it means " friend" in Arabic. Insan doesn't mean spirit, Insan means human being.
