No i did not go to 0.0 to mine but where is the asteroid love from CCP to this region? Why is 0.3 empire mining better than 0.0 because of availability? Why would any 0.0 system not have a source for nocxium for instants?
Has it ever been considered that mineral availability may slow down the movement of smaller corps into 0.0 because they cannot keep themselves in ships? |

Pureblind is the same way.... the best asteroid you can find there is Jaspet... and its missing Omber and Hedbergite (if memory serves).
Not to mention that the largest rats are 950k... (except for the very rare dread gurista spawn).

You have great rats there and thats more important. Would you really trade Sansha rats in exchange for Angels if it would also come with good ore? I wouldn't if I was you.

The True Security status of a system determines the ore that shows up there, and also, how much of it.
In the north, Crokite doesn't spawn in any system with a true sec lower than -.48. (that number could be wrong, not entirely sure, I know -.70 is where crok starts being common in every belt)

great rats eh? The loot, components, and isk from selling them are not without their risks, all of which compound the problem of even the most basic ship building without access to a capital ship.
I have never had a rat drop a cruiser in their loot, have you? |

that is true, you will get A cruiser...no where near enough minerals to make a fleet for the corp.
This brings me back to my point..newer corps cannot go to 0.0 and supply themselves, nor can they afford to be dependent on the one local ship builder.
CCP wants to populate 0.0, at least make all minerals, but morphite available in some quantity within 5 jumps of any system. Every system is asking too much. This would make 0.0 politics a bit more interesting too. |

It's not too bad imho.
A tachyon is like 1m in mins for example, a nos 800, neut 500k..... So killing a single good triple BS npc spawn gives enough to build a cruiser.
If you have nocx problems contact me ingame.

Yeah, you get mins via the rats. Not necessarily the best loot, but a lot of it. A few days and refines later, you have your battleships.
And no, it's not the place for miners, unless you are ice mining.
Syndicate is pretty good for miners, though. Bad rats, but lots of croke.

Edited by: Plutoinum on 26/10/2006 15:48:27 Curse has no high-ore at all, but nice belt rats and hauler spawns. The mins that I got there from ratting last January/February would have been enough to build a dread and a carrier. (Or even more, if I look at the Trit and Pyerite). Just from ratting (haulers and refining loot).
On top of that there is the occasional officer spawn and enough stations with enough slots, even a lot agents, if you want to do missions. Although no high-ore, I'd say it's a nice place. I'd prefer it over empire any time.
