Forget torps unless you want to be BBQd in a couple of hours by heroes in small ships. Torps are only gonna be a safe option if you have support with you or you are going to carefully select only larger targets.
Train cruise and support skills, ideally cruise spec so you can hit cruisers and smaller with precision.
Train caldari BS up as high as you can to maximize raven dmg, forget the scorp, just doesn't hit hard enough for general everyday use.
Other then those just cap / shield / fitting / targeting related stuff....

Thanks Guys.
I havnt got a ship in mind specifically but taking Tiller's advice it looks like a Raven will be required. Cruise missles sound good to me. I am aiming to specialise in them anyway so that makes me happy.
Oh well I guess the next year of training my char will be aimed at lower spec Ops. I do specialise in gathering inteligence on corps and alliances highlighting weak spots and vunrabilities so maybe I should make money doing this in the mean time.

How do you make money at that? What skills do you train for it? How do you go about highlighting weak spots and vulnerabilities?

Edited by: JoeT on 26/10/2006 14:43:44 cruise raven is a bit better then torps (points that tiller pointed out), but with Cruise Missiles, you got the powergrid to drop 2 heavy nos on that bad boy too. --- If i'm posting on the forums, it's mostly cause i'm at work :D

I think mostly they do it by lying to themselves and others about providing an actual service to anyone.

first of all, the intelligence industry in eve is alive and well, it's just that there are no in-game mechanics that aid it. contracts might improve this. intelligence is not shared across corporations and thats why you don't hear much about it.
back to the OP
raven pilots.... train torpedos V get some friends to camp with you and put a bubble on the gate (if in 0.0). javelin torps can go up to 300km with max skills! enjoy.

Edited by: ****c on 26/10/2006 23:47:48 I've used this in gang with good sucess - I've got the locking skill (can't remember name - sig analysis?) to 5 thanks to force recon, even so you won't be locking anything small in a hurry so if you're a killboard ***** you mioght want to change it.
raven - 6 cruise - 2 heavy nos. 20km scram, xl c5-l booster, cap injector (electro), 1 photon II, 2 invul II. 3 BCS II, 2 PDS II.
Tanks all day and does nice damage. If you work solo or with fast locking scramblers in gang, change it to suit - it's a good base fit.
edit: this is a close range setup - sniping with caldari is a no no - well, until kali hits anyway. Unless you use an eagle - but if you could, you wouldn't be asking this :)

Edited by: getsomemuthafunster on 27/10/2006 08:43:34 Again Thanks Guys I do like the responses on the forums, Generally very helpfull.
With regards to the whole Inteligence thing. I wont say what i do but I did stop an alliance versus alliance war in 4 days without a single kill puerly by tracking down all the mining corps and HQs and making it known.
It takes time but can be done and report supplied.

They'll be even more suited to close range gate camping with Kali.
8 neutron II's and null tbh.
