The second computer is better because of the CPU and extra memory, but the graphics cards are absolutely HORRIBLE. Do not get it with anything less than a 7600GT or 7900 or X1800. 7300s are crap, and dual 7300s are hardly better.

Edited by: Don West on 27/10/2006 11:08:03 I vote computer #2. I just put together a new machine, all of the parts are arriving today actually.
Audio won't make that much of a difference in eve. The music is so compressed it looses a lot of quality. If you are listening to MP3's in the background, that's another story all together though, go head and boost the sound card on the second computer to 7.1 (Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1) I know everyone screams about Sound Blaster. But this card is going to reshape peoples opinions for the better. Doesn't hurt it's on sale for 35 off at NewEgg either.
I don't know what memory you got, but make sure it has a Case Latency of 3 or lower.
Hard drive on the second is going to have a lot more throughput. 3Gb as apposed to the 1.5Gb on the first. The 16Mb buffer will work in your favor as well.
It was said above, but spend the extra money on the GT7900's, don't purchase the 7300 series graphics card.
If your purchasing a soundcard for music, and/or you watch dvd's on your computer upgrade those speakers. At minimum the Logitech« X-530, but if you can afford the Logitech« Z-5300e or better, do it. In the long run you won't be sorry you did.

This comment doesn't make any sense.

Not to be rude, but it does. He's referring to SATA I and II. However its all theoretical and hard drive I/O is rarely ever a bottleneck (SATA I's 1.5Gb is way more than what is needed today). But he is right about the buffer, that will help a lot.
